Chapter 6: The Mistake
Via's POV
"Ugh, where are you Mackenzie when I need you?" I whined, getting past the crowd of people who were dancing, singing, drinking, and all that kind of shiz that happens at a party.
"Hey!" Someone roughly tapped my shoulder and I faced whoever it was, finding a very drunken Lance.
"Lance!" I shrugged. He was so tipsy and was slurring really badly. "I think you got too much of this." I scolded him, snatching the wine bottle in his hands.
"Ahh, come on, babe. Don't be such a party crasher." He continued to slur. I held him tightly on the arm to keep him from falling over.
"Party crasher my face!" I shrieked, waving my hands in front of him. "For your information, it was I who threw this party."
I saw him making the 'talking hand' and mouthing 'blah, blah, blah.'
"Shut up, and spare me nagging. I came here to party, so step aside." He shoved me to the right, making me hit someone I didn't even recall inviting.
'He's just drunk, Via. Let it pass.' I reminded myself.
Oh, thank unicorns for mom not being here. She went back to Spain just a few days ago to check on our family business there and to pay my 'abuela' a visit.
"Okay, now what was I doing again? Oh right... Mackenzie!" I continued to walk past the people and quest for Mackenzie.
With the music at its loudest, and the wild party animals in my house, I barely heard the doorbell ringing repeatedly. If it weren't for the loud knocks from the door, I wouldn't have noticed.
I turned the knob to see a glaring Dustin, and a crossed-armed Austin.
"Uhh... hi?" I greeted them smiling.
'Wing it, Via.'
"What is the meaning of this..." Dustin fidgeted his foot, sounding very suspicious.
"I kind of threw a party..." I scratched my head. I seriously thought I could get away with this one.
"Without mom's approval?" Austin began to rage on me.
"Ugh, in my defense, she's in Spain." I protested. They just shot each other those looks that I couldn't really read, but I'm sure it was some weird twin lingo that only they knew of.
"Unbelievable!" They said in unison.
"You can't tell her, okay? She'll kill me." I pleaded, and suddenly, their shocked expressions turned into mischievous grins.
Oh, no.
"And what's it in for us?" They teased, while still sporting those grins I wanted to rip off their faces.
"What do you want?" I asked flatly, rolling my eyes over them.
"Give us your Wii." They said in a robotic voice.
"Freak no!" I objected, and mind you, we were still at the door.
"Relax, one month only." Austin was using his so-called 'charm' on me.
"And you can still use it." Dustin said in addition.
"Fine!" I sighed in defeat. They gave each other those 'bro fists'. Childish as always.
They proceeded in shortly after that, and I on the other hand kept searching for Mackenzie.
I went passed the backdoor and I checked the garden.
