Chapter 18:The Feels of Love and Victory
Via's POV
"The event will begin in a few minutes. Stand by and we'll ring you all up! Good luck and enjoy the show." Once the announcer broke out the news, I had my heart hammering wildly like a gorilla does on its chest.
This is it.
S-U-R-R-E-A-L.
Everything was absolutely surreal at this point in time. Sectionals was about to begin in a few and guess what? We were chosen as first to perform. This was actually the last major school event before the long awaited break.
Thank God for the break. I could really use two-weeks of stress-free leisure and a vacation in Spain. Although I'd really miss the sunniest California, I always had a soft spot for the country I was raised up in for five years more or less.
España!
Preparing in the back stage, I gathered the squad and began, "Okay girls, this is what we practiced for. This is what we danced our hearts off to, now let's prove that we're deserving of that victory, okay?"
All of them began to nod and let out tiny smiles, including Laura.
"Who's going to win?"
"Ford High is!"
"Okay, break a leg everyone." I called out before we were about to exit the back stage and take our spots.
'After this, you'll get that relaxing break in Spain.' I kept on reminding myself to ease the tension.
But, that's not what I really should be focusing on right now. What's more important is that the announcer is saying right now, and it goes something like, "Now Presenting Ford High School's cheer squad. Make some noise!"
'Game on!'
The crowd went berserk around the stadium. It was one huge stadium, no doubt, but the fact that this was my first major competition made me feel like a dot. I actually couldn't quite keep up with the shrieks.
Of course, there was a substantial booing in the audience because they were classified as competition. That wasn't unexpected. Ignoring that, (though you couldn't quite not hear that) I tried to avert my attention to our supporters.
Couldn't see them?
Mackenzie, Zack, Dustin, Austin, Ian? How about other students from Ford High?Where in the world were they?
Okay, technically, where in the stadium were they?
'I could really use some support over here!' My face carried a pleading and tensed look.
Just as I was losing hope, when someone shouted, "Via! Over here!" I turned my head to see a cheering Dustin with his arm over another girl that wasn't actually Summer anymore. I guess he must've gotten bored with her and now he's with someone else. Aside from Dust and slut, (or might I say the girl he's with) Miss Mercedez was there too, and you know the rest of the people who were there. I waved back and sent them a flying kiss.
I saw Ian fake cringe as I did that, but that's just Ian being Ian.
"Good luck little sissy!" I managed to hear Aussie call out. I flashed a grateful grin at all of them because in a matter of seconds the music would play.
Just as the last minute arrived, I looked back at the clan. Unfortunately, Cameron was nowhere to be found.
'Sigh.'
