A/N: Am I lazy af and used dozens of time skip? Yes, get ready for it. I wrote a week and half for Hazel, if I wouldn't use time skip, I would never finish it. In the end it gets thinner and less detailed? Yes. Why? BECAUSE I COULDN'T STAND THIS CHAPTER ANYMORE! It was ENDLESS! And for the gods' and goddesses' names, I decided to use other form of their name, if possible. It'll be easy to recognize, no problem. Btw, I have no idea if the party Hazel is going allows underage, and I couldn't find this info anywhere, so just pretend it does for the sake of the fic. Warning, long chapter ahead, more than 9k words.
TUESDAY
"So, are you going by bus or plane?"
Lucy's question snapped Hazel back to reality. She and Nico shared a look, before he shrugged and answered.
"We haven't chosen yet."
"What do you mean by that?"
"That we haven't chosen."
"So you bought both tickets and are gonna choose on the day?"
"No, we haven't bought any ticket yet."
This caught Niel's attention, that was too busy staring longingly at Claire until then.
"You said you guys are traveling, right?"
"Yes."
Niel shook his head.
"No, you're not."
Nico looked almost challenging.
"What makes you think that?"
Lucy slapped both siblings on the shoulder.
"There's no way you can get a ticket in last second. You were supposed to go tomorrow!"
Hazel furrowed her eyebrows in concern.
"Do you think there's no more tickets?"
"Have you ever traveled near Christmas?"
Is it bad?
It's... busy. Sorry, it didn't even cross my mind to warn you.
Nico was reluctant to answer.
"Yes?"
"By what, teletransportation? Just snap your fingers and you're there?"
Nico and Hazel shared a quick glance and both were thinking of shadow travel, Nico's favorite mean of transportation. Lucy kept talking, waving her arms around.
"You need to buy a ticket in advance! We're not a small city, but there isn't endless buses and planes taking off at each minute."
Hazel smiled sheepishly at her friend.
"So, what do we do now?"
Lucy and Niel held each other's gaze, like mentally communicating. It still puzzled Hazel how they could argue so much and still read each other's mind; which proved her point when both nodded at the same time, before Niel spoke.
"Road trip!"
"What?"
"We're not the only city in the universe, there are others cities around. We're gonna take you there."
THURSDAY
Hazel rubbed her eyes and yawned, using the limited space of the backseat to stretch her arms.
Would you mind if I fell asleep in here?
Tired?
It's barely six in the morning, of course I'm sleepy.
