Maddie's POV

In the days that passed since the Austin events occurred everything had somewhat calmed down and things were falling into that of a "comfortable normal."

From the outside looking in you would see I was a hard working student and volleyball player. I spent time with my friends here and there but mostly I stuck to my cousin Delilah's side, always willing to hangout with her.

But really everything was a front or a cover.

I only tried so hard in school these days because if my grades slipped my parents would ground me. As for my friends, they were my go to sources into Paycos Highschool as some of their cousins go their, and I needed sources to find out all about this girl Dominique and her relationship with my mate.

Lastly there was Delilah, while I've always liked spending quality time with my cousin, now it was more of a necessity.

You see Delilah can't stay away from Zeke for too long and unlike myself she can go to Paycos whenever she pleases, but This weekend is the first weekend back that I am relying on her to take me with her to Paycos.

And I am dying to go see Tripp.

It's strange really, the way mates work.

I mean one minute you can be head over heels for a guy and then the second you phase someone new, a guy you hardly gave a second look to, is suddenly all you can think about.

Atleast, Tripp was all I could think about, my wolf had hated me for pushing him away so abruptly, and somewhere deep down I had hated myself for doing that.

And now that both my wolf and I were trying to actually be with our mate, Tripp was always on my mind. What's he doing, who's he with, when will I see him?

I couldn't go and just openly Facebook him either since both his girlfriend and my brother were monitoring our Facebook walls.

I did however manage to send him a few private messages where we exchanged numbers, the only problem with that was our texts usually only consisted of us pining for the other.

As I sat at my desk neglecting my homework and daydreaming about this weekend my brother walked in.

"I don't believe I heard a knock." I said, indicating that I didn't appreciate him just walking into my room.

He strode across my room and made himself comfortable on my bed, "that's because I didn't knock" he replied lazily as he laid back against my pillows.

"Well next time respect my privacy, as for now, I think you can just get out."

"But Mads, I wanted to talk to you." He feigned sadness.

I sighed "make it quick Gio, I really gotta get this done." I thumbed to my spiral, I grimaced inside. I really did have to get my homework done, its due first period and I haven't even started on it.

"I just wanted to say that I'm proud of you."

I gave him a questioning look and he continued.

"I mean, staying away from McAvoy, it's for the best Mads. I have people in Paycos keeping an eye on him and they told me he's been all over town with his girlfriend."

"They could be just friends." I tried to defend, "I mean, he didn't even seem that interested in her when we saw them in Austin."

Giovanni shook his head, "either way, until he stops seeing her as a friend or a girlfriend, then he can not come here."

"You can't just go around dictating who can and can't enter Avee, Gio," I stated a little angrily, "and you also can't tell me what to do."

"I can and I have." He countered.

I got up from my chair and walked towards him, making him sit up in my bed. "You, are not the Alpha of this pack or my Father, and until you get a mate of your own you won't ever understand what you're asking of me. Now Get Out." I growled.

"Make me." He challenged.

I smiled a wicked smile. "DADDY, GIO WON'T GET OUT OF MY ROOM!"

My brothers face fell as our father yelled at him to leave me alone and respect my privacy, I slammed the door behind my brother as he unwilling left my bedroom.

. . . . .

The rest of the week went by with a thick tension between my brother and myself every time he came over to our parents house, Giovanni had turned into a lording prick who bossed around anyone who would let him. But I wasn't one of them.

"Where are you going?" Giovanni asked sharply.

I was sitting on the staircase with my over night bag waiting For my cousin to text me that she was here. "To Paycos."

"Like hell you are."

"Mommy and Daddy said I could." I replied cooly. I had in fact asked my parents and they only agreed that I could go so long as Delilah was also going. This worked out perfectly for me considering she was already going.

"Then I'm going too." He challenged as he crossed his arms with certainty.

"Mmmm sorry, but you weren't exactly invited." I pointed out. "Maybe next time you won't be such a douche to people."

"I haven't done anything to Zeke."

"Oh I wasn't talking about Zeke, I was talking about Tripp." I told him.

"Tripp can't decide who can go to the Parker Beach House."

"No he can't. But we won't be spending the weekend at the beach house." I filled him in. "We're going camping on the McAvoy's land. You know Two tents, one roaring fire, out in the wild. Sounds kinda romantic doesn't it?"

In all actuality my parents knew exactly what I would be doing this weekend, my father had ordered Delilah and I to stay together at night and he also ordered that we didn't have sex with any boys. And seeing how he IS our alpha as well as my father, we both had no choice but to listen to him.

My phone pinged and I looked at the two word text from Delilah 'I'm here.' I looked up to see my brother shaking with anger.

I smiled and patted his shoulder, "no shifting in the house Gio, Mommy will kill you if you wreck the wood flooring with your claws."
