Zeke's POV
Delilah and I had spent the weekend together in secret. Even though we had to lie to everyone it was fun and exciting and I would be lying if I wasn't always turned on when I'm around that girl.
I thought about asking her out, our chemistry is insane, but of course the timing is off since she's gonna be in and out of town for a month helping her grandmother with stuff.
The day after I knew she left I actually felt a little depressed. The psycho ice queen had put a spell on me and I needed to do anything and everything to keep from locking myself up in my room just thinking about her.
At that moment my phone rang and I smiled as I thought it could be Delilah. But Maddie's picture popped up and I answered it anyways. We arranged to go to the mall.
I drove to her place, her dad excitedly greeted me while her mother sort of gave me this look that said 'stay away from my daughter.'
When we got to the mall back in Paycos she did a little shopping and randomly gossiped about this and that.
"Oh did I tell you my bitchy cousin left." She said happily. "You don't know how free I feel now that, that anchor is off of me."
"You shouldn't talk about her like that." I grumbled. Delilah isn't bitchy and she certainly wasn't an anchor in fact I kinda wish she were more clingy, then maybe she wouldn't have left so willingly.
"Why?"
I sighed "because she's your family, don't ever bad mouth your family because at the end of the day no matter what they will always have your back."
"Why are you so grumpy today?" She asked as she sat on the a bench near the fountain. This seemed to be the central seating area in the mall, and since it was still summer it was teen central.
"I just, I don't know, my minds a little occupied at the moment." I admitted.
"Aww," she cooed "why don't I help you out." She leaned in and kissed me.
I pulled away. "Damn it Maddie what the hell, get a hobby or something don't just go around kissing me whenever you want."
"But you are my hobby." She said as she dragged one of her fingers delicately down my nose.
"Maddie." I said trying to reason with her.
"Oh come on Zeke, just give me a chance, don't I deserve at least that."
I could feel everyone watching us just like when I had first moved here.
"I don't think so Maddie, what if it ruins our friendship?" I asked.
"Our friendship will only get ruined if it gets weird and it will only get weird if we allow it to get weird."
Her words confused me, "fine, four dates and that's it."
"Deal." She said and pecked my lips playfully then grabbed her bags and got up.
I sighed, 'I hope I don't regret this.'
As soon as I thought the thought an image of Delilah popped up in my head. I remembered every kiss, every touch, every embrace. Then an image of Delilah as the Ice Queen I once thought she was filled my head. Yeah Delilah's gonna be pissed when she finds out.
Date number one was pretty average, Dinner and a movie.
And at the end of the week we had Date number two. It was a little bit different, it was a day date spent at a large indoor go kart racing and arcade place then we had a late lunch at the same place.
