Maddie's POV

I had been looking at the clock all day and as it was now six I decided I could finally start getting ready. I took my outfit (that I had picked out as soon as I got home) off of the hanger, it was a simple cotton sundress that had a white Babydoll top with a lace overlay and a very muted lavender skirt.

I sat down on a chair in my restroom and began to put on my everyday makeup.

A light knock came from my doorway and I looked up to see my mom standing there smiling at me.

I pouted.

"What's wrong sweetheart?"

"I don't know what to do with my hair."

She laughed and shook her head as she walked into the restroom and now leaned against the counter.

"I really want to impress them."

"Oh sweetie you won't have to impress anybody, they are going to love you just because you're you and the fact that you're Tripp's mate."

"That's what Tripp said last night."

She reached down and grabbed my brush, she gently went to work on my hair, the soft bristles making my amber locks shine and smooth into place.

"Beautiful." She said lovingly as she put my brush back down.

I looked up and saw she had given me a simple ponytail to go along with my simple dress. I smiled and thanked her.

"You know we expect to meet him right?"

My stomach fluttered at the thought of my parents meeting Tripp.

"Yes ma'am." I said as I watched her walk out of my room.

I sprayed my favorite perfume on myself and then left the restroom to get my purse together.

I heard Tripp's door close and I ran over to my window to watch him walk, I smiled involuntarily at his handsome face worried with obvious nerves, then I noticed he was carrying something wrapped in white.

When I couldn't see him anymore I knew that he must've reached the front door so I collected my giddiness and smiled once more as Gio entered my room. "He's here."

"We better go and save him from Daddy then." I teased.

I came down the stairs right behind Gio and he eased the now growing tension I had when he cheerfully greeted Tripp.

For the first time I noticed he wasn't in his usual jeans and a t-shirt attire, but rather khaki slacks and a deep blue top. his short hair was combed back and his baby blues were shining brightly as he now smiled down at me.

"Hi." I let out a little breathlessly as his mere presence took my breath away.

He smirked even wider "you look lovely." He replied.

My father, his arm around my mothers waist cleared his throat.

"Oh yeah," Tripp said as a slight blush tinted his cheeks, "these are for you."

I took the white item from his hands and now saw that they were flowers wrapped in white paper, "they're beautiful." I admitted of the summery bouquet, "and my favorite color too, thank you."

"You're welcome." He said softly.

That awkward moment hit when we went to hug but then I stopped myself as I suddenly remembered we were in front of my family and I didn't know how my father would react. Tripp buried his hands into his pockets at my sudden change of behavior.
