Perfection

Delilah's POV

"Well?" She asked "have you? Met him I mean?"

I had been sitting at my makeup table for the past twenty minutes polishing my nails to perfection while I tried to drown out my best friend Marlowe's constant dribble of the ordinarily mundane.

"Who are we talking about again?" I wondered aloud.

"The new kid."

I was drawing a blank, did we have a new kid in town.

"You know, Alpha Gavin's son." She responded to my silence.

I rolled my eyes and shook my head "oh, Zeke Parker." Of course I had heard of him. He was the biggest topic of conversation since my brother and cousin phased for the first time.

"Well?" She pestered.

"No, I'm slated to meet him at his parents engagement party just like everybody else."

"Well my cousin lives in Paycos and she said she saw him at the park the other day with a puppy and he was really cute."

"Him or the puppy?" I questioned sarcastically.

"Uh, I think she was talking about him." She remarked unsure of herself.

I shook my head once again at my best friends unreal ditziness. Also at the fact that so many girls here are already lusting over this kid and most of them haven't even seen him yet, and in all actuality I don't get why they're so adamant about Zeke? I mean it's not like he's next in line to be the Paycos Pack Alpha. No that title would go to his older cousin, Brody Hendricks, talk about perfection.

A stray smile snaked its way across my cheeks as I though about my old Childhood crush.

Brody is 5 years older than me so of course he was always an unattainable crush. Then when he didn't find his mate right away after his first phase I kept my hopes up. But a month before my first lycanthrope phase he found his mate in some sorority house, she's a human girl named Shay Cornell, I have since stopped wishing we would get together but he was still nice to look at.

Just then my little cousin poked her head in and pulled me out of my thoughts.

Madeleine Eloise Earls, She was everything I wasn't.

Where most people see me as the stiff, boring, bitch everyone sees my little cousin as the cute, bubbly, firecracker.

She happily entered the room and she and Marlowe began talking more excitedly about Zeke Parker. It was no secret that Maddie has already formed a crush on all the pretty pictures everyone's been painting for her with their words of this Zeke guy.

I would be lying if I said our parents weren't expecting them to find a mate in each other, it's actually all our mothers have been talking about since the two are set to phase around the same time. Our parents already have a party planned for the special occasion.

Marlowe and I invited Maddie to join us for lunch and we all left shortly after
