An Arrangement

Delilah's POV

"Where are you going?" My mother asked as I grabbed my keys.

"Just wanted to visit with some Friends before I am forced back to Austin tomorrow." I snapped, I had been a complete bitch to everyone since finding out my mate has been going out with my little cousin.

"Delilah don't be like that." My dad said defensively.

"Well when is grandma gonna find someone 'suitable' I mean it's not that hard, it's selling used baby clothes...Is she even looking?" I asked upset, "I gotta go."

I walked out of my parents house and left to meet up with Zeke, I don't know why I agreed to come but I did. Had it been any other guy I wouldn't have though twice about just removing him from my life.

I pulled up just at the border of the two towns and he stepped out of his car. I got out and leaned against my Fiat, he would have to come to me.

"Let me just start off by apologizing." He said as he now stood in front of me.

I really wasn't in the mood to hear anything and I didn't care how much my wolf was whining to be with him.

He grabbed my waist and stood me upright.

His touch melted away my anger and I had to work extremely hard to keep my resolve and not smile.

He left his hands on my hips, "I'm sorry." He said genuinely, "I'm not sure what this thing with you and I is but I shouldn't have agreed to go out with Maddie."

"What do you mean?" I asked confused.

"Well Maddie likes me and when I told her she needed to stop she practically begged me to go out with her. Her exact words were 'don't I deserve a shot'."

I was baffled, would Maddie really do something like that?

"And you agreed?"

"Yes." He admitted "but only to four dates and then that's it."

Maddie has watched too many movies, she expected to make him take her on four dates and at the end he would just somehow magically fall in love with her. I shook my head.

He sighed and ran his hand through his messy mane of curls, "Look, none of this would be happening if you'd just be my girlfriend." I looked at him a little shocked, I hadn't expected that. His words reminded me how young he really is, then he snaked his arms around my waist once more and my wolf didn't care about his age. "This, me and you, this is something worth having."

"Why?" I asked, needing to hear his reasoning for us being together.

"Because this is real, it's hot and passionate, we want each other. Don't think I haven't seen the way you look at me or the way you get flushed when I touch you."

"You're crazy."

He ran the back of his fingers lightly across my cheek and I involuntarily closed my eyes and leaned into his touch. He kissed my forehead and I smiled.

"Am I?" He asked with a slight smirk. "Look we both know what we are and one day I will be beta, now I don't know who my mate person will be but my dad says women are going to be lining up for the position, so if your my girlfriend your gonna have to learn that I'm not a cheater, if you agree to be mine then I will treat you right and do everything to prove I'm worth being with you." He said a little pleadingly at the end.

I couldn't help how I felt about this guy. "Fine I like you more than I should and I'm just worried."

"What are you worried about?" He asked as he caressed my face.

"Everything Zeke, our age difference, Maddie, what everyone will think, but most importantly our Mates."

He rolled his eyes. "None of that shit matters Lilah,  I don't care who knows or what they think and so what if your a couple years older than me, it's not that big of a deal."

"Mates are a big deal." I chimed.

He scoffed "I haven't phased yet, we'll cross that road when we come to it." He said then he kisses my lips sweetly. "I need you, and I don't think I can handle you being with someone else right now."

He didn't know how true those words were to me as well.

"Well how do you think I feel, I've missed you since the moment you left my house that night and then I come back and find out that not only are you seeing someone but it just so happens to be my baby cousin." I said heartbroken, tears escaped me even when I tried not to cry. "Literally the one person I asked you not to mess with."

"I'm sorry." He said softly then pulled me into his chest, I let out everything that I had been holding in. He stroked my back and just let me cry. "It's ok everything will work its self out."

"How do you know?" I asked.

I could feel him shrug. "My dad says sometimes our wolves talk to us even before we turn, I'm pretty sure he talks to me and I know he really likes you." He said.

I looked up at him and he wiped my face with his hands, "why do you say he likes me?" I asked.

Again he shrugged "its like my subconscious wont stop bitching at me every time I go out with Maddie."

"Oh" I said honestly surprised and happy, then I hugged him tight so he wouldn't see me smiling. We stood like this for a while until I pulled away. "There's still something we have to figure out."

"What's that?"

"What are we gonna do about Maddie?" I asked.

"Well I promised her four dates, she's a sweet girl and one of my only friends, I don't want to hurt her more than I already am when she finds out about us." He said, "I'll just finish the dates up and then we can get together afterward that way I won't be cheating on you."

I couldn't help but smile at his arrangement, he is a sweetheart and such a gentleman.

"Fine, but no kissing or anything like that." I said. "That's for me only."

"Now that's something I can promise to."

"I better get going, I gotta drive back up to Austin tomorrow." I said not wanting to leave yet.

We kissed once more before he opened my car door for me. "Drive safe and call me when you get to Austin so I know you made it, alright?"

"Alright." I agreed, he leaned into my window and kissed me once more and then I left.
