Maddie's POV
I sat next to my brother and cousins as I shivered on the bleachers. Soon Evie-Lynn and David showed up, I hugged them and introduced them to everyone. Last to arrive were Zeke's parents.
We had all come out to watch our boys play their first lacrosse game of the season.
To be honest I didn't know a thing about it except that my own handsome mate just so happened to be the captain of the Varsity team.
Okay so from what I'm told, Tripp has always been a great player and when Zeke came into town the two just worked amazingly together on the field.
There was a sizable crowd for a town obsessed with football, the Texas sun was shining bright and an autumn breeze was bringing a chill into the air, I pulled Tripp's Varsity Jacket around myself a little tighter and my cousin Derek wrapped his arm around me.
Then we all stood and cheered as the boys and their teammates jogged onto the field.
They huddled together and their coach began talking to them, when they disbanded Tripp and I locked eyes and he winked at me, then I suddenly remembered his jersey and I blushed deeply as an uncontrollable smile broke out across my face.
The game began and I was locked on to my mates every move, I didn't cheer or boo partially because I didn't know what the hell was happening, but mostly it was because I was so enraptured by Tripp in General.
"Check out number 52." A random voice behind us said. "Is that McAvoy"
My ears pricked up as I suddenly tuned the game out and now paid very close attention to the girls talking a couple bleacher above us.
"I think it is, he's in my literature class, he's always quiet but really good eye candy." One of them said.
"Well he looks sexy as hell from up here." Another one said, "I can't see his face but just look how he wears those shorts."
That was it, as a girlfriend I would not let my boyfriend be talked about, as a lycanthrope I would not let some other chick lust after MY mate.
I turned to say something but as I looked back I saw that I wasn't the only person to turn.
"Ladies...just like women, men are not objects to be ogled at but respected. Now if the only reason you came is to stare at another girls boyfriend then I suggest you leave." Mrs Parker stated flatly.
The girls looked a little embarrassed and all three of them stood up and left, I thanked Zeke's mom and then refocused on Tripp.
The game was more physical than I had expected and I watched as players charged at each other with their bodies, some even got dirty and used their sticks all while trying to get the small rubber ball into the goal.
It was like a mix of hockey, football, and soccer.
Then I watched as my mate actually slapped the ball with his stick straight at the goal, the goalie barely missed it by the tip of his fingers and it went in, I jumped up and cheered with Evie-Lynn.
But our happy cheers were cut short when one of the guys from the opposing team openly hit Tripp with the butt of his stick.
The guys cried foul.
And when the refs didn't do anything Zeke reacted by pushing the guy.
The guy threw his helmet to the ground and the ref blew his whistle for unsportsmanlike conduct, but the guy continued to try and attack Zeke, this time the ref stepped in between them before anything happened and the guy was sent to the penalty "box."
