Maddie's POV

Zeke and Delilah both agreed to Tripp's suggestion and actually took off before I even got out of my seat.

"C'mon Maddie." Tripp said softly as he stood there waiting for me.

I got up and walked alongside him.

"I'm really glad you decided to come tonight." He sounded.

I smiled and chanced a look at him. He was looking at me and it caught me off guard causing me to blush. "Thank you for inviting me...I-it's really beautiful out here."

And in fact it really was. The rays from the setting sun were spilling in through the trees, causing a splattering of gold to touch everything here an there; Making the woods seem just a little magical as the dust motes flitted up toward the sky like fairy dust.

"Any time." He said softly.

I looked ahead and couldn't see my cousin or Zeke and knew they were more than likely trying to give us some privacy.

"Guess those two just couldn't wait to get some alone time together." He said with a chuckle.

"I think they're trying to give US some alone time." I admitted as a warmth began to arise along my cheeks. Everything about this situation was making me hyper aware. This was the first time we have ever planned to be alone together, this close to each other in such a romantic setting.

"Oh."

"Tripp." I said as I stopped walking and looked at him. "I have to tell you, that I'm extremely nervous right now and I don't know why, and I can't even figure out how to act around you every since what happened in Austin." I rushed out as I ran my hand nervously through my hair.

In truth, after our make out session in the shed, all I've wanted to do was spend time with him, and now that we're here together I didn't know how to act. What if he didn't like when I kissed him? What if he hated me for rejecting him and now he wants to reject me.

"Maddie." He said sweetly as he stepped in, closing the gap between us. "You don't have to be nervous, it's just me." I nodded my understanding then he reached out and stroked my cheek. "Is this okay?"

I closed my eyes and leaned into his touch, my heartbeats quickening as the warm electric currents seemed to flow through me from his touch alone. I nodded my head yes against his hand, knowing fully well that if I even attempted to talk right now my voice would betray me by cracking.

I opened my eyes and boldly wrapped my arms around his middle. It seemed so simple yet it felt like so much more.

As Tripp is taller than me, every now and again I would glance up and smile at him as I would catch him looking down at me with his own gentle blue eyes.

Together we stood in the middle of this scenic woods the sky was changing colors and then Tripp sighed as he kissed my hair. "Why couldn't you just accept me when you first turned?"

It was meant to be rhetorical, but his words stung and the she wolf in me got defensive. I stepped back from his embrace, "and why did you have to go and get a girlfriend?"

"To show you what you had passed up." He said matter of factly.

His response seemed straightforward, but his words sounded slightly cocky. "But I'm your mate." I pointed out as the growl in my chest built up from my furthering anger.

"Sure as hell didn't seem like it at your party." He argued.

"Aren't we past that already?" I snapped back. "Plus, it doesn't seem like you wasted any time crying about me since you went and got with the first slut who threw herself at you." I finally growled as I pushed him and began to walk away. "I swear all you men are the damn same, you only want one thing...you were suppose to be different though, you were my mate!"

My she wolf whined and I gave in and stopped walking, upon turning to face him I saw that my words were effecting him.

I let my tone soften just a bit "how would you feel if, if I went out and just got with some random guy?"

In one swift motion Tripp had managed to run at me and pinned me against a tree, I stared into his black eyes as he growled, "YOU'RE MINE!"

I tried to squirm out of his hold as I noticed his eyes returning to their normal baby blues.

"Dang it Tripp let me go!" I shouted, frustrated at the confusing swirl of emotions that were battling inside of me at this very moment. Angry at being pinned by another wolf, this was from my alpha blood ties. Excited from his sudden possessiveness, this was my she-wolf. And lastly I felt slightly guilty at how his brilliant baby blue eyes, usually so bright from his constant happiness now dimmed with a sadness to my words; this was purely me.

"No." He said more calmly. "I just, I just need to smell you to calm my wolf down before you piss me off and make me phase."

I stayed quiet as he put his nose to my neck and let it trail along my shoulder.

His extreme closeness aroused me and woke up my inner wolf. She began to howl with want, and as if he could hear her, Tripp's head snapped up.

Our eyes locked onto each others and without think my arms went up and wrapped themselves comfortably behind his head.

Tripp threw his hat on the ground and I smiled. It was the first time I've ever seen him without it. His hair is short and faded brown, but in this sunlight it was a multitude of light brown hues.

His eyes never left mine, and now his hands grabbed my waist. This time I wasn't the one who initiated the kiss. With my eyes contently closed I lost myself in this new kiss.

This kiss was different than the shed kiss. The shed kiss was hard and fast, full of lust and excitement.

But this kiss was better.

It was slow and building, it was more passionate in its romance. My hands caressed his soft short hair while his only left my waist so that his arms could wrap around me in an attempt to draw me in even closer to him.

I could have stood there in these woods kissing him for hours as his kissing mixed with his scent damn near intoxicated me and instantly makes me love drunk.

But upon hearing a twig snap we pulled ourselves apart.

Tripp looked out to see where the sound had come from while I picked up his hat. I brushed off some fallen leaves and handed it back when he turned to face me.

He smiled and took it from my hands before deciding to put it on my head.

"Looks better on you." He said as he hugged my waist once more and kissed my lips softly.

"But it's YOUR hat." I replied.

"Keep it, I like seeing you in it." He said with a shrug.

I smiled. "Alright," then I slipped it back onto his head. "You can borrow it until we leave tomorrow."

He smirked and readjusted the hat onto his head. "Speaking of leaving, we should probably get back since I'm sure Zeke can't keep a fire going."

We had been kissing so long that the sun had actually set, fortunately Tripp knew his way around these woods.

He grabbed my hand and easily got us back to camp.

"There you guys are." Delilah said.

I watched as her eyes trailed down at our linked hands but she didn't comment on it.

"So are you girls sure you want to spend the night in these old tents on the hard ground?" Tripp asked. "Because we could always go inside and hangout."

It was hardly a choice, so the guys collected our bags and we went inside.
