4 - You Again?!

After both Jess and I were changed, we headed out into the gym hall. I grinned, we were playing my favourite; dodge ball! Most of the girls were already out just like the boys; no surprise as I'm really slow at changing. My excuse is I own a strip club (Take ages to take off your clothes but really quick when putting them back on) but don't fret, I don't actually own a strip club (I'm too innocent for that anyway. Okay then, forget what I said, just having a moment there. Sometimes, I think I should be a blonde...My happiness was demolished as I caught Brittany being the female dog she is and flirting it up with the guys. I managed to find some humour though when I caught Jake watching the whole thing. Haha, that won't end well. Me as stuck by my side and we wondered over to the benches to sit.

"Oh my gosh! I hope I get to be on the same team as Jake!" Jess squealed beside me. A splash of green envy washed over me. Jake is mine. Just like ice cream. Not remembering that Jess didn't know about my sad crush, I scowled at her. She frowned and looked away awkwardly. What a sad girl, fantasizing over someone she'll never get; wait, that sounds like me too. Sigh.

"Sorry, I'm just real moody right now, it's got nothing to do with you" I told a dirty little lie. Oh well, everyone lies once in every while so yeah. Boom. Jess smiled and the rest of the class (including the boys) crowded round the benches. Mr Zambian marched across the polished floor, his head held high, anyone could mistake him for a snotty, rich, posh snob. But that's totally wrong; never judge a book by its cover. Gosh that's getting old. Anyway, he's a really fun guy, really.

Jake, who refused to gather round the benches earlier, made his way across the hall. His feet dragged across the floor confidently, lazily and made the girls check their faces for drool. He had a smug, knowing look on his face and winked at me. I blushed crimson. Did he? He did. I almost fainted. But he could've been winking at someone behind me...Nah I'm not gonna crush my dreams. I'm going to make the most of this. Mr Zambian raised an eyebrow, most teachers were used to his behaviour anyway. Jake just smirked and sat his good looks down, pushing a blonde off the bench as he perched. Mr Zambian muttered under his breath and began to number us 1 or 2. Ugh, I hate this method of grouping, it's so dull.

He numbered me 2 and Jess as 1. Whoo me, number 2, like a Christmas present that one. Jokes. Unfortunately...for Brittany! I got on the team with Jake and she got put in 1! I skipped joyfully over to the far side of the room, people stared and I ignored them. Their just jealous that I'm the best skipper ever to have lived! Yeah, that's right. I felt really ungraceful as I slipped, very stupid might I add, I should've seen the dodge ball cone in the middle of the floor! Just as I was about to hit the ground, two strong arms wrapped around my body and caught me like a princess. My tensed muscles relaxed at the persons touch, my eyelids fluttered and I looked up to my saviour. Jake. His green orbs burned into mine, he smiled down at me and helped me to my feet. The room fell deadly silent and everyone had their eyes trained on us...embarrassing!

"Careful, Ems" He whispered in my ear, causing nervous shivers to trickle down my spine. He remembered my name, I was probably beaming like a dork right now. I mean, it's not everyday your crush saves you from falling!

"Thanks, you saved my right butt cheek from a nasty bruise there" I covered my hand over my mouth. What the hell Lou!? He chuckled and stalked off. Nonononononno! I wasn't meant to say that! Why am I so stupid? Luckily, everyones attention wasn't on me when I let those words escape my mouth. Jess was watching enviously though after seeing Jake catch me like that. I'm pretty sure some rumours about that avent will be streaming around class at break...I'm pretty annoyed with Jess now, I thought we were friends; friends don't get jealous at each other and give them the evils. It's a really awkward relationship right now. I decided to join my team mates so I whizzed round, knocking into someone by accident.
