18 - Rescue Mission part 2

My stomach rumbled. Jake took my hand and I felt all tingly and warm. He led me to the dining room, yay! We were having pie for dinner. My favourite. Chicken pie. With chips and peas! I'm so happy I'm gonna die! Everyone were already sat down at the table, waiting for us to tell them they could eat. They have good manners. I wonder who made the dinner today.

Kellie saw me and waved like a mad woman. I went up to her and she grinned happily and Cole looked at her with pride. That is so cute.

"I made the pie!" She yelped happily "Cole helped a tiny bit too. Oh we have to go and support Jake and Cole's football match next week too!"

"Sure and well done" I replied and smiled before finding Jake, he was staring at me with a smile on his face. Bit creepy. I skipped up to him and went to sit but he pulled me up on his lap. Again. Ugh. I wriggled around and he growled softly.

Now everyone was staring straight at us. I swear my cheeks blush so much they should be just painted red permanently. Jake told everyone they could eat and ignored his food. His focus was on me. He stroked my hair lovingly. I just gazed happily into his beautiful green eyes. We were making a happy memory, before we went to save Eva and Nathan, possibly venturing towards deaths front door.

He touched his nose to mine. I giggled as he turned my body round so I was facing him. Nobody bothered us at all. No one dared; we were both Alphas. Alphas get angry easily. Especially when they're with their mate. Jake's lips were extremely close to mine as our noses were touching. He began to inch his lips closer, slowly so nobody saw.

"Excuse me, Alpha, I have a question" someone called amongst all the chatter. Jake let out a very loud growl. Everyone gasped as the girl spoke up, interrupting Jake and I, they knew she was in trouble. The girl was sat next to Ren. I think it must be her sister. That family love questions. She didn't seem to care that she had interrupted our happy moment.

"What!?" Jake almost yelled "you know. I'm getting really irritated by people. I haven't kissed my mate once! Not once! Soon she could die when we go to fight! Also every time we even try to kiss, there is always an interruption so I swear. You better have a very good question for me young lady!"

I touched Jake's arm, trying to calm him down. He took a deep breath and looked her in the eye. She looked quite scared to be honest. I don't blame her. Jake can be very intimidating.

"I was wondering what was for desert?" She shook with a lot of fear. Jake had to take another deep breath. He looked very angry. I quickly got up and excused us before tugging Jake out the room. Everyone else got back to eating as I led Jake outside. I tangled my hand in his and pulled him out towards the forest. It wasn't quite dusk yet, still another 3 hours to go.

Jake followed me grumpily and I led him further and further into the woods. We reached a small stream, it was pretty and was teemed with small fish. I plonked onto the grass and patted the spot next to me, motioning Jake to sit there. He obeyed and turned to me with a questioning look.

"Why are we here?" He said in monotone.

"Shut up and come here" I replied and scrambled onto his lap.

He looked shocked as I put my arms around his neck. My heart was drumming along with his, I could hear the light laps of the stream, the swish of the trees most of all, I felt the sparks sizzling on my skin. I had been dying for this moment, just like Jake had been. I smiled and leaned closer to Jake. I stopped moving as his lips pressed firmly to mine. Bliss. Wow. I never knew cooties were so worth it. I had to say, I was also shocked that this was happening, it was a bit overwhelming. Our lips moved in sync, he was being gentle, soft. It wasn't rushed or heated. The kiss was slow, loving. It was lasting. Actually it was really long. Soon I'm seriously gonna need to breathe. I smiled against his lips in happiness. My heart was fluttering around.
