Eyes On Me

Chapter 5

Selena Pov 

"Would you like to go somewhere? Maybe we can go eat something?" Mark asked me when I entered his car, i looked at him unsure, i really didn't want to stay with him but at the same time i didn't want to seem rude and say no 

"Mhm yeah, sure" I played with my fingers nervously and looked out of the window to avoid his eyes 

"I know a really nice coffee shop, it's usually quiet at this hour" 

"Perfect" I faked a smile, i instantly regret my decision to say yes but i was glad he suggested  the coffee shop because i really didn't know many places to go  

"You don't talk much, right?" He chuckled looking at me briefly 

"You're right" I simply said 

"Can i ask you why? I tried to talk to you so many times" 

"You know why, everyone at school talks about "Goody-Lena" because i don't go to parties, i don't do drugs and i don't go out with guys" I said rolling my eyes, he already knew that and talking about it made me feel worse

"Hey! Not everyone, not me" 

"Yeah, sure" 

I didn't believe him, he probably talked about me with his football team but at least he tried to talk to me a few times and i appreciated it 

"No, i'm serious Selena, you shouldn't listen to them" He said while we arrived in front of the coffee shop "Half our school is full of sluts and the other half is full of fuckboys"  

I laughed at what he said, it was true, who were them to judge me? 

"I mean, it would be amazing to see you partying and drunk" He stopped the car and turned to look at me with a smile "But i honestly like the way you are, you are different in a good way, you shouldn't change" 

"Thank you Mark" I said truthfully smiling back at him 

The Coffee shop was nice and quiet just like he said, there was only a cute couple on the corner sipping on their coffee 

Mark was really sweet and lovely to talk to, he payed for the coffee and the donut i ordered and we had a friendly chat, he wanted to go for a walk and talk some more but i told him my mom needed me at home, it was a lie but i had socialized enough for the day 

"I hope we can do this again soon Selena" He said once we arrived in front of my house

"Of course" I said truly enjoying his company "And thank you for the ride" 

I got out of his car waving at him and made my way to my front door 

"Who the fuck is he?" I heard his harsh tone 

I already know who that voice belonged to

"A friend" I said searching for the keys in my backpack 

"I thought i said if you needed something to call me" 

"Yeah i know" 

"Then why you came home with a stranger?" 

"Why do you care? you're not my mom or dad" I looked at him for the first time since we started talking and noticed he was smoking on his front porch 

He could be my daddy but that's another story 

"Because i'm older and i'm your friend" He sghrugged while taking another drag off his cigarette  

"Well, you don't have to worry, Mark is a nice guy" 

"Oh, so his name is Mark?" He smirked blowing smoke into the air "Nice fuckboy name" 

"What's your problem, Justin?" I asked irritated, he was so quick to judge Mark and i didn't like it 

"My problem is you're too naive to see he only wants one thing from you" 

"Not everyone is like you" I said opening the door annoyed 

"Fine, do what you want" He threw his cigarette on the ground stomping on it before going inside his house

Maybe i was a bit naive but i would never let Mark use me or any other boy

After doing my homework and thinking about our conversation i started to feel bad for what i said to Justin, he just wanted to protect me for some strange reasons 

I looked out the window of my bedroom to see his bedroom lights off, he was probably out somewhere, i  was disappointed, i wanted to go and apologize

I had his number but it didn't feel right to write a message, i wanted to talk to him face to face or maybe it was just an excuse to see him again 

I'll go to his house and apologize tomorrow, maybe i can bake another cake for him and this time he will actually eat it
