Selena Pov

Being with Justin is what I needed to feel better, his promises and his determination to be with me reassured me that no matter what we were gonna be ok

I wanted to stay all day with him but it was sadly time to go home and put on an act for my dad

Justin decided to stay there a little bit longer so we wouldn't raise any suspicion

I walked to my front door and opened it expecting the house to be empty but to my surprise I found my Dad sitting on the couch looking at the black screen of the turned off tv

"Hi Dad" I said quietly, walking inside

"How was school?" His tone was calm, his back was still facing me

"It was...good" I tried not to hesitate or show I was lying but I could hear my heart beating faster

He got up slowly turning to face me "Very funny" He walked to me with decisive steps

"What's funny?" I furrowed my eyebrows confused

"I called your school and they told me you weren't there, must be a mistake right?" He looked at me intently waiting for me to slip up

My throat closed for a moment, I was feeling nauseous.. this was not happening

"Of course it's a mistake, there's another Gomez at school they probably confused her with me" I tried to keep calm but I was feeling my palms starting to sweat

My phone in my hand beeped and the screen illuminated showing I had a message. It was Justin

Are you back home?

My eyes quickly read the text before locking the screen as fast as I could

"Who was that?" His tone was still calm and it was terrifying me

"A friend" I stuttered

I mentally kicked myself for stuttering but it was done, he already knew the truth, he was just waiting for me to admit it

"A friend from school right?"

"Yes, from school"

"Can you give me your phone? I would like to invite her to dinner with us" He reached out to me with his hand open

I closed my eyes for a second when I reopened them his hand was still open in front of me, I had no other choice but to give my phone to him "Beautiful idea" I forced a smile

He took my phone without even looking at the text and with a swift movement he smashed it to the floor making me jump in fear "Do you think you can fool me Selena?" He screamed at me

"Are you crazy?" My eyes were wide open, who was this man in front of me? This wasn't my dad.. the hate he had for Justin was clouding his common sense

"I told you to stay away from him! I told you to go to school but you couldn't listen to me, you had to see him!" He was so furious his face was all red and the veins on his neck were visible

I took a step back scared of him "I had to see him! I love him! You can't keep us apart"

"Love" He scoffed "You don't even know what love is" He grabbed my arms shaking me "I can't keep you two apart? Let's see if I can't"
