Chapter 26

Selena Pov

I heard a faint noise coming from my side but I was too sleepy to care so I pressed my head harder on the pillow ignoring it and hoping it would just stop

And it did

For a minute

Then the noise started again and I had to come back from dreamland to register that it wasn't a random sound— it was my phone ringing

Who was calling? I was sure I still had five or ten minutes of sleep before I had to wake up and get ready for school; let me tell you, those minutes were essentials for me to face the day

I groaned strecthing my arm over to pick my phone, I had to feel with my hand around the bedside table because my head was still buried deep in the pillow

Once I finally found it I answered with an annoyed "What?" My voice was probably muffled by the fabric pressed to my mouth but I couldn't bother to get up, nope, not now

"Good morning sunshine!" The voice on the other end of the line chirped

"Ugh why are you so happy in the morning?"

"Why Shouldn't I Be?"

"Because it's morning duh!" I said like it was obvious "Anyway, what do you want?"

"I can feel someone is happy to hear me"

"No, not at all. You ruined my beauty sleep" I Grumbled

"As you can be more beautiful than that, don't be ridiculous!" He said in a serious tone "I called my little grumpy girlfried so we can go have breakfast before I drop her off to school"

"Justin no, we already talked about it. I have my own car now, remember?"

"Do I look like some eighty years old gramps with amnesia? Of course I remember but I also remember that I told you "No""

"Listen I don't want to fight, Okay? Especially not in the morning because I'm still half asleep and you would probably win this argument" I lifted my head from the soft pillow sighing at the missing feeling of it

"You're not gonna win either way Selena" I could hear him moving around and I already knew he was running his fingers through his hair multiple times

"Are you pulling your hair again? Don't do it! you're gonna be bald" At this point he was getting angry with me trying to manoeuvre my way around the problem so we had to compromise

"Why can't you just let me go on my own? What can happen? I don't think Aliens abducts people in the morning, they need sleep too you know"

"Selena" He warned me he wasn't liking my jokes but I did because I'm damn funny

"Baby" I said as sweet as I can possibly be "Nothing will happen Okay? I'll be In and out of school and then back home" I paused "Please, I'm so excited to finally drive my car" I added hoping he would say yes

He let out a breath giving up "Only this time"

"Maybe more than just once" I quickly mumbled "And If something happens you have the permission to lock me in forever" I giggled, I still wasn't sure why he was so paranoid. Nothing could harm me apart from some driving accident but that could happen with him too

"You would be already dead"

"What?" I didn't hear what he said, it was like a whisper

"Nothing, go get ready and make sure to call me if you need me"

"Ok I will and Thank you" I said happily that he left me going on my own, I felt like a real adult going with my car

"You can thank me when you come home later" He was probably smirking behind that phone
