The next morning I woke up feeling tired after the long night me and Justin had, I stretched my arms yawning and feeling the empty bed beside me
I opened my eyes seeing a little note on the pillow next to me
Good morning baby, I wish I could've stayed with you but we can't risk your mom seeing me. Hope you have a good day at school, I love you
"Wake up Selena! If you're going to be late for school you'll never see your phone again" My mom yelled behind the door
I rolled my eyes, I really needed my phone back, I felt like I was isolated from the rest of the world, I had no contact with anyone except for Justin
"I'm coming" I yelled back
I got ready quickly and rushed downstairs to the kitchen where my mom was fixing me a plate of pancakes
"Can I have my phone now?" I asked hopefully
"It's just been a day, you can live without it some more" She said handing me the plate with delicious smelling pancakes
"Actually no, I can't" I stabbed the pancakes with frustration before eating a big chunk out of them
"I'm sure you can" She replied back fast "I'm taking it with me and if you keep being good you'll have it back soon"
"But.. but how I'm supposed to call dad?" I tried to argue
"Ah! Nice try sweetie but you never call your dad and if you want you can use my phone" Damn it I thought
"And what if something happens to me, huh?"
She stopped to think for a minute, maybe she realized it's stupid to take my phone with her
"If you just go in and out of school you'll be fine" She said before leaving a kiss to my forehead "I'm going to work now, see you tonight and don't do anything stupid"
Geez thanks mom, you care about my safety I see
I finished eating and took my backpack with me before walking to my car, I quickly glanced at Justin's driveway and saw he wasn't home
What kind of illegal shit was he doing in the morning? I ignored my thoughts and focused on driving to school to get there on time
As soon as I parked the car and got out Liz was at my door with a mad look on her face
"What happened to you?" She asked with her arms crossed to her chest, she looked like my mom with that pose
"What do you mean?"
"Hello? You haven't replied any of my texts or calls!"
"Oh, I'm sorry my mom took my phone"
"Why would she do that?"
"Apparently I spend too much time with Justin" I answered her question as we made our way to the school, it wasn't the whole real reason but it was the quickest way to explain it to her
