October 4th World Animal Day.

Today is World Animal Day,

a time to love and share,

spend time with the animal world,

and show how much we care.

Let's say no to hunting,

and the sight of a dancing bear,

let's stop killing elephants,

and show how much we care.

So peace to all God's creatures,

enjoy life everywhere,

let's respect their rights and freedom,

and show them that we care.

World Animal Day is to celebrate animal life on our planet, this day was started by ecologists in Florence, Italy in 1931. The date October 4th was chosen because it coincides with the Feast Day of St Francis, the patron saint of animals. This day was designed to benefit animals and all the people who work hard to improve their welfare.
