Today is to raise awareness of girl children,
and the difficulties they have to face,
from discrimination and abuse,
that makes them feel out of place.
They must have access to a proper education,
a healthy lifestyle, leading to employment,
to help them fulfil their potential,
a world where they have enjoyment.
On December 9th the United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution 66/170 to declare October 11th as the International Day of Girl Child. Girls have the right to a safe, educated lifestyle, access to modern technology, be protected against physical, mental and sexual abuse and allow them to properly mature into the women of tomorrow.
