Haha, more soulmate au's because I'm soulmate au trash.

Soulmate AU where you see the world in black and white until you come into contact with your soulmate.

Everyday was the same for Mahiru; wake up to a black and white bedroom with a black and white cat laying next to him before going into a black and white living room, showering, and changing into a black and white uniform.

He couldn't even tell what colour his clothes were, or whether they actually matched, but no one ever questioned it - or at least those who had met their soulmate never questioned it.

But Mahiru never really minded that the world was wired differently, and that people could only see colour until they came into contact with their soulmate. The sixteen-year old had other things to worry about, like who was doing what for the school festival.

And besides, Mahiru liked the simple things in life, and black and white seemed like two simple colours, so he was pretty content with living the way he already was. But everyone had to meet their soulmate one day, right?

"Crapcrapcrapcrapcrap," the brown-haired boy muttered to himself over and over again as he ran through the busy streets of Tokyo. "I knew I forgot to turn off the oven before I left for school."

"Mahiru, slow down," Kuro said in his cat form, the latter bouncing up and down on Mahiru's head as the boy overtook the slow walkers on the street. "You're gonna-"

But before the cat could finish off his sentence, Mahiru bumped into someone, sending him and the person he bumped into onto the ground.

"Told you," Kuro muttered, still in cat form, as Mahiru rubbed the back of his pain with a wince.

He looked up at the person he had bumped into and, suddenly, colour spilled into his vision, seeping in from the corner of his eyes and into his field of vision.

The two stared at eachother with the same look of awe dusted across their faces. Their expressions both read:

'You're my soulmate.'

All of a sudden, Mahiru came to his senses and stood up, helping the girl he had bumped into up off of the ground, feeling a spark of nervous electricity travel through his body upon touching his soulmate.

"Sorry about that, I should've been more careful," he chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his head with the hand that wasn't holding his soulmate's. "I'm Mahiru Shirota."

The girl smiled sweetly, her (eye colour) eyes closing cutely as her (hair colour) hair swayed in the breeze.

"(f/n) (l/n)," she introduced politely, shaking the hand that Mahiru was holding her's with.

Suddenly, Mahiru remembered the reason why he bumped into (f/n) in the first place and let go of her hand to pick up Kuro from the ground and place him back onto his shoulders.

"I'm sorry, but I'm worried that my apartment is about to burn down so I really gotta get going," he apologised. "Maybe you can come over later and we can discuss different colours like elementary school kids."

(f/n) giggled at this and closed her eyes, nodding sweetly as she clasped her hands behind her back.

"Sure, that sounds perfect," she replied, her voice sounding even more beautiful than before. "I'll see you later, Mahiru Shirota."

In the end, (f/n) went round to Mahiru's apartment - which, luckily, hadn't burned down - and the two of them ended up having a fully blown discussion about their new favourite colours, Mahiru finding out that his usual attire actually looked pretty good and that he must have a sixth sense or something.

And when it got too dark for (f/n) to walk home, or even for Mahiru to escort her there, she called her mum and explained how she had just met her soulmate and that she was staying round his because it was too late for her to go home that night.

And Mahiru was completely fine with (f/n) staying over at his, because she was by far so much more cuddly and warmer than having to sleep alone.

Tbh, Kuro and Mahiru should be soulmates but eh.
