Ok, so I've decided I need to work on my angst and what better character to test it out on than Lawless - because god knows he hasn't been through enough in his life already ahaha.

Also, this one is kinda triggering, as it is Depressed!Reader, so please please please read with caution, and I beg you do not feel discouraged by any of this. You're all beautiful (but not as beautiful as Licht sorry hun.)

One thing Lawless loved the most about (f/n) was the fact that she was so darn strong.

It didn't matter that she was mentally and physically broken. She still put up with so much in her life, and it made Lawless look forward to coming home from work everyday just so he could praise her on how proud he was of her.

Sure, (f/n) had her moments when she wasn't feeling her best, but she never gave up, and she never gave into temptation, no matter how inviting all the sharp objects in the house looked.

But one day, everything just seemed to slip for her.

With Lawless not being around for the whole entire day, (f/n) was starting to find it hard to cope on her own.

She needed her boyfriend around to give her unnecessary hugs and kisses and boost her morale by a hundred percent, but he wasn't. And even though he texted her every hour with cheesy one-liners and a load of heart emojis, it still didn't help, and (f/n) found herself slipping into insanity fast.

It was only a matter of time...

"Honey, I'm home!" Lawless greeted happily, stepping through the door of the apartment the two of them owned. "Huh, I've always wanted to say that."

"Shut up, Rotten Hedgehog," Licht yelled from the apartment next to Lawless', and Lawless smiled shyly before kicking the door closed with his foot.

"Sorry, angel-cakes!" He replied, before walking further into the apartment. "(f/n)?"

When he didn't receive a reply, panic quickly rose into Lawless' heart.

He dropped his keys on the table and ran into the kitchen, the sight of nothing being out of place or moved putting his mind at ease for a moment, but when he saw a smashed photo of him and (f/n), a shard of glass missing from the frame, he knew what was going on.

Dropping the picture onto the floor in fear, Lawless suddenly ran to the bedroom the two of them shared, nearly tripping up over his laces more than once on the way there, and when he reached the door, he found out it was locked when it wouldn't open.

"(f/n)! (f/n), please open the door! I love you so much, please open the door!" He cried, pounding on the door all while trying to open it at the same time.

He didn't want (f/n) to hurt herself, that was the last thing he wanted her to do.

All of a sudden, the door flew open and (f/n) suddenly latched herself onto Lawless, clinging onto the fabric of his shirt as she bawled into his chest.

"I'm sorry, Lawless! I wanted to but I couldn't, I'm sorry!" She screamed, and Lawless felt a few tears of his own drip down his face as he hugged (f/n) tightly, sinking onto the floor along with her.

"It's ok," he cooed, running a hand through her hair as he rubbed her back up and down in small circles. "Hey, it's ok now, I'm here. Everything's going to be ok because I love you so so so much, ok?"

(f/n)'s sobs continued for about ten minutes longer until Lawless felt her move her arm out from underneath him, her palm red and bloody from squeezing the shard in her hand for too long.

Before she could do anything, Lawless grabbed the shard of glass out of (f/n)'s hand and threw it across the room, it hitting the front door with a clanking sound before hitting the floor.

Feeling her tears start to flow again, Lawless picked (f/n) up and carried her over to the living room, where he sat in the middle of the floor rather than on the couch so he could place (f/n) firmly in his lap.

Reaching over, he pulled out an antiseptic wipe and a plaster from the first-aid draw and went back to wrapping his arms around (f/n) from behind, opening up her palm and kissing her wrist gently.

"You're so beautiful," he whispered so sincerely it made (f/n) sob as he opened up the antiseptic wipe and ran it along the cut on her hand, causing her to hiss in pain.

But Lawless hummed and kissed her neck softly to distract her from the pain before opening up the plaster and placing it snugly onto her cut, running his fingers over it gently afterwards.

And then the two just sat there, Lawless rocking them back and forth as he hummed a collection of (f/n)'s favourite songs to her in an attempt to soothe her mind for the time being, and (f/n) soon started to relax, leaning back against Lawless and letting out a small yawn.

"You tired?" He asked softly, and (f/n) nodded, turning around in-between his legs so she was facing him, before wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her head on his chest.

"Hey," he said, running the back of his index finger down the side of (f/n)'s face until she looked up at him her tear-painted lashes glistening in the moonlight. "You are so special, ok? And I love you with all my heart."

(f/n) looked down, unable to look Lawless in the eye without crying again, but he brought her face back up to his, making her look at him in the gentlest way possible.

"Please, (f/n)," he begged, cupping her face in one of his hands. "Please don't hurt yourself like this. You're too precious to do this to yourself and I don't want you to feel like this. Don't feel that just because I'm always fighting with that stupid angel next door that I don't care about you because I do. I really do, (f/n), and I'll do anything to make you see just how important you are to me."

(f/n) looked up at Lawless with a look of awe on her face before he closed the gap in-between the two of them, capturing her lips in a sweet and gentle kiss, one that made (f/n) feel like she really was loved by someone who actually mattered in her life.

Lawless.

Jesus, this took me an hour and a half to write and it was still really shitty. I was listening to the Angel Beats opening and it made me sob slightly.
