Lawless had always loved winter.

He loved the white blankets of snow that formed on the ground overnight and the frosty wind that would bite at his face, sending chills down his spine that reminded the vampire that he was still alive and breathing.

Also, it gave him a chance to just escape.

The air was more particularly breathable in winter, and it made Lawless feel like he was in another world where he could breathe so much more easier than how he would in summer or any other time of the year.

Winter was a way for him to just forget about real life and live life for the moment, which he had always loved doing.

But his thoughts were cut short when a sparkle of light caught Lawless' eye.

Turning his head in the direction of the glimmer, he saw someone he knew quite well, as she had been Licht's best friend since childbirth, wearing a sparkly (favourite colour) jumper - even though it wasn't enough to keep her warm.

"Hey, (f/n)!" Lawless called out to the girl, jogging across the road to walk next to her. "What are you doing out here so late at night? Don't you have school tomorrow?"

(f/n) looked over at Lawless, giving the Servamp a small smile before looking back at the white scenery in front of her.

"Yeah," she replied, shivering a little. "Boy, I never knew it would be this cold out."

Upon noticing the girl's attire - skinny jeans and her (favourite colour) jumper (Lawless presumed she had a t-shirt of some sort on underneath) - Lawless started taking off his coat.

"Lawless, you don't have to give me your coat, I'm fine," (f/n) reassured, and Lawless scoffed.

"I'm not giving you my coat, are you nuts? I'll freeze to death without it!" He replied, and (f/n) stared at him with a half-lidded gaze.

"Gee, thanks," she said sarcastically and Lawless gave her a toothy grin.

"I'm just stretching it out so the both of us can fit in it!" He exclaimed, and (f/n) felt another chill run up her spine as she gave Lawless a questionable look.

Lawless put the coat on again, but this time holding his arms out for (f/n) and the girl looked around nervously before stepping closer to Lawless.

Too embarrassed to do anything more than just stand there, (f/n) felt a blush creep up onto her face as Lawless picked her up and placed her on his feet so she was standing on his toes before grabbing her arms and sliding them into the sleeves, interlacing her cold fingers with his warm ones which caused (f/n)'s blush to deepen.

Zipping up the coat, Lawless looked down at (f/n), who was was still blushing madly as she looked up at him, their faces just inches away from eachother's.

"Hey, how's it going?" He teased, and (f/n) giggled, her cold breath tickling the skin of Lawless' neck that was exposed from his shirt.

Clearing his throat to hide his own blush, Lawless looked up at the pavement ahead of him, starting to walk which looked more like a waddle but it was actually rather fun.

"Back to your place, yeah?" He asked, and (f/n) rested her head on Lawless' chest as she squeezed his hands to keep herself from falling over.

"Please," she replied, and Lawless let out a breathy chuckle before continuing to walk to (f/n)'s house.

When the two of them arrived at her doorstep, (f/n) was almost sad to have to say goodbye to Lawless and his warm coat, but, as Lawless had said earlier, she did have school the next day and needed to go if she wanted to get a good night's sleep.

"Thanks for doing this, Lawless," she thanked, shivering quite harshly once she stepped out of Lawless' coat and onto the front porch of her house, digging in her back pocket for her keys.

"My pleasure," he responded, and (f/n) gave him a small smile before finally unlocking the door, but before she could step into the house, Lawless pulled her back for a kiss - one than left (f/n)'s whole body feeling warm inside. "Goodnight."

"Night," (f/n) concluded, smiling at Lawless as she stepped into her house and closed the door behind her, collapsing against the door wistfully as she slid down it and onto the floor.

"What a girl," Lawless said to himself before walking off down the street to his own apartment that he shared with Licht.
