She was like a broken record; she never played right, but that didn't stop him from listening to her.

She was like a crooked picture; she never stayed upright, but that didn't stop him from admiring her beauty.

She was like broken glass; rigid but frail, and hurting anyone she touched, but that didn't stop him from picking her up and putting her back together.

She was a mess, but he thought she was a masterpiece.

"What are you doing here, Rotten Hedgehog?" Licht spat when he saw Lawless walk through the double doors of the large auditorium.

Lawless placed a hand over his heart in mock offense, and gasped dramatically.

"Isn't my angel-cakes glad to see me?" He asked, the Servamp's voice bouncing off the empty walls of the auditorium as he strode over to the front seats.

Licht narrowed his eyes at his Servamp before simply clicking his tongue and going back to playing the piano.

The two sat in the silence of each other, the sound of Licht's angelic piano playing soothing both Lawless' mind and body. But when the Eve stopped playing, Lawless opened his eyes and glared at him.

"Why'd you stop-"

"Shouldn't you be at home with your girlfriend?" Licht cut him off, standing up from his piano and jumping off of the stage.

Lawless blinked at Licht for a moment before smirking and shrugging.

"I don't know, should I?" He teased, and Licht gritted his teeth.

"You really are stupid, aren't you?" The latter asked rhetorically and Lawless' smile faded. "You don't really love her, you're just using her to satisfy your boredom-"

"That's not true," Lawless argued, standing up from his seat in front of Licht.

"Then what are you still doing here?" The pianist asked over Lawless. "You of all people should know what depression feels like, and instead you're here grovelling at my feet because you're too scared of what you've already been through.

"You're too scared to face your own girlfriend because you're a coward, Lawless," Licht concluded, the silence that lingered after screaming in Lawless' ears.

"I-I'm not..." The Servamp tried to argue, his voice barely coming out as a whisper.

"Then go change that," Licht ordered quietly, and Lawless looked up at his Eve's stone-cold expression before nodding and running out of the auditorium.

Lawless may have been able to light the darkness inside of (f/n)'s heart all those years ago, but things and people change, and what was able to fix the girl before may not work now.

Pushing past the people in the streets, Lawless ran as fast as he could, his cape flapping about behind him in the wind as he refused to stop running until he knew that (f/n) was safe.

Stepping into the house the two of them shared was like stepping through a portal into another dimension.

The feeling was unknown, and the aura definitely wasn't a pleasant one; and Lawless almost dreaded going up the stairs.

But when he saw his girlfriend huddled up on their bed and heard her soft cries, all doubts of feeling fear or turning back left his brain, as if there was an open door for any bad thoughts to leave through, and they did so without hesitation.

Silently, the Servamp climbed onto the bed and laid down next to (f/n), wrapping his arms around her from behind and burying his face in the crook of her neck.

"Shh," he cooed in her ear, rubbing her arm up and down, his warm hands causing sensations across (f/n)'s cold body. "Everything's going to be ok, I'm here now."

And soon enough, (f/n)'s sobs reduced to sniffles, and she was strong enough to sit up, Lawless unraveling his arms from around her for a moment to sit up next to her.

She turned around so she was facing Lawless, and the latter smiled reassuringly, lightly grabbing her arm and peppering kisses along it from her wrist up to her shoulder, his lips grazing the scars that weren't there physically, but were definitely there mentally.

"To be or not to be?" Lawless whispered, kissing up (f/n)'s collarbone and neck, up to her lips. "That is the question." He said gently before kissing (f/n)'s slightly chapped lips with his soft ones.

But when he felt (f/n)'s lips tremble against his, Lawless pulled away only to see more tears welling in her eyes.

"Why do you love me, Lawless?" She asked, her voice cracking as a few tears ran down her face.

But Lawless wasn't scared anymore; he wasn't afraid of her tears or the sound of her cries. As long as he could do something to make them go away, then he refused to feel fear from them.

"Because you're a masterpiece, perfectly incomplete," he answered, wiping his girlfriend's tears away with his thumb.

"You're my masterpiece, (f/n)."

Sorry if this is messy in some places, I kept losing focus and it was really frustrating but I did it.
