I woke up feeling like crap, and it turns out my child that had slept in the bed with me was sick. I called Sam to see if he could watch her and i explained everything to him, how my son wanted to be a girl. So now she's my daughter.
"Yeah, okay. You okay man? You sound like shit" he said.
"I'm fine. Just a little cold." I explained as I made some tea. Usually when i wake up I make coffee. But i'm sick, so tea it is. When he got here, I smiled, kissed Anna on the head and dashed ouut the door.
I didn't have time to do much when I got to school, I just headed to my classroom. Lucky for me, Castiels classroom is right across the hall.I put my bag down in my desk. Sighing. I walked across the hall. "Hey." I leaned against the door frame.
"Hello." He nodded. "Are you alright?" He frowned. I guess I look as bad as I feel.
"Kinda sick. But I uh, got your message last night. We're on for lunch" I smiled.
"O-okay." He nodded. "Are you sure?" he said, walking over to me when i sneezed, handing me some tissues.
"Yeah, i'll grab a soup or something." I nodded.
"Okay, sure." He nodded. "Well head to your class then, the bell's about to ring." He put his hand against my arm gently, smiling, before he turned around and organized things on his desk.
I nodded and headed to my class. I sat down and sighed. "Hello everyone." I said after the bell rang.
there was a chorus of hellos.
"So today we're not taking notes." I smiled. I heard most of the students sigh of relief. "We'll have a discussion. Now it's not really related to geography but it's pertinent to my personal life and I'd like to know what you guys' opinion is on the topic. How many of you know what the LGBT community is?" I asked. A few lifted there hands. I nodded and stood up. I erased what was on the board and wrote "LGBT". I turned to look at the students. "This stand for lesbian, gay, bisexual and Transgender." I said.
A kid raised his hand. "sir, are you telling us you're gay?" He asked.
"I'll get to that in a minute." I said. "How many of you know someone who is LGBT?" I asked. Not many people raised their hands. "Okay well that's not true. I'm gay."
"I knew it!" I heard someone say.
"Oh!"
"Aw man."
"Why are all the hot ones gay?" I laughed at that one.
"I'm your teacher, you're not supposed to find me hot." I glanced out the window on the door of my class, which pointed directly to Castiels class. He looked over almost as soon as i did and smiled at me. I smiled back.
After my students calmed down, i took back speaking. "So as I was saying. Lgbt stands for lesbian gay bisexual and.. Transgender." I coughed slightly, urg. "My son Adam, actually asked me yesterday if he could "Be a girl." And you know what I said?" I asked. Nobody said anything. "I said sure. Why the hell not. So my son is now my daughter. Named Anna. She is 3. So there is a possibility that it is a phase, according to some research I did. However, it's possible that it isn't and that I will forever have a daughter. And that's absolutely fine. I am gay. My child is transgendered. We're a diverse family, thats for sure. But I am proud of my family." I smiled.
A student lifted her hand. I nodded. "Um. Sir? Um.. Are you dating someone right now?" She asked.
"Uh. Not currently. But uh." I glanced over towards Castiels classroom again, as he was writing in the board. "Ive got a date so, fingers crossed." I chuckled.
I coughed into my arm and sighed. "Okay, guys you can do whatever you want, im not feeling good so." I sat back down at my desk.
I patiently waited for lunch. Except it wasn't patiently at all. I just wanted to sit down with Castiel. I sighed when the bell for lunch finally rang. I had finished my soothing tea in first period. I felt so much like shit. Castiel knocked on my classroom door as i was just fixing and re-adjusting the desks cause the students had moved them.
"Hey." I smiled.
"Need help?" He smiled, walking in.
"Yeah actually." I chuckled.
He helped me put all the desks in rows, then smiled. "off to lunch we go." he said.
I chuckled. We went to this random little place and I ordered a tea and soup. We sat down and just talked. he asked me about Adam. "Well actually, he asked me last night if he could be a girl." I said.
"Oh shit. Really?" he asked.
I nodded.
"So what? You think he's.. trans?" He asked me.
I nodded. "My now daughter, wants to be called Anna." i said.
"Well thats interesting." He smiled.
I looked at his dimple, then smiled too. We literally didn't stop talking the whole lunch time. After school
though, I was feeling worse than before.
"oh crap, dean you don't look well enough to drive." He put his hand on my shoulder, helping me to stand without falling.
"I'm fine. Really." I said. I wasn't but I said it.
"No, sorry. I'm driving you home." he said, putting his arm around my waist to support me. I felt drunk. But I haven't been drunk since before Anna was born, so I'm not. Also, I didn't drink.
"But my car." I mumbled. "I'll pick you up and you can come back to get it when you feel better." He said.
"Thanks, Cas." I smiled slightly.
He nodded and helped me into the passenger seat of his car.
He drove me home after I told him the address and he helped me inside.
"Dean?" Sam came around the corner. "Oh.. Who's this?" He asked.
"Castiel." Cas said. He looked awkward.
"Oh. well hello, I'm Sam, Deans brother." They shook hands.
Cas seemed to relax when he said he was my brother. Did he think he was my boyfriend? I smiled over at Cas. "Thanks for the ride and for the help." I mumbled.
He nodded. "Get some rest okay? Call me later when you're feeling okay." He said.
"But I don't have your number." I stated.
He took my phone from me and put his number in. "Now you do." He smiled. "Go rest." He patted my shoulder, then left.
I basically fell on the couch. "Where's Anna?" I asked.
"His-ugh. I've been doing that all day. Her room. napping. She was feeling sick." He said.
I nodded and sighed. "She slept in my bed last night, cause she had a nightmare, but now i'm sick too." I mumbled.
"Yeah, but thats your work crush. He helped you." Sam smiled at me.
"Shut up" I chuckled.
"He seemed interested if you ask me." Sam said.
"and what do you know about how guys show they're interested? You're married. To a woman." i said.
"so were you." he chuckled.
"Yeah but im not anymore." I laughed.
"fair enough" He shook his head. "anyways, I've got work to do so i'll see you later." He patted my arm before leaving.
