When Cas woke up the next day it woke me up. "Sorry I didn't mean to wake you." He whispered.
"Its okay." I said quietly, reaching out to him, for help standing up.
"Are you sure you don't want me to stay here today?" He asked.
"I'll be fine." I said once I got to my feet.
"Are you sure? It's not too late to call in." He said. "Oh but I'd have to leave anyways to talk to my landlord." He bit his nail.
"Don't do that, it's bad for your nails and your teeth." I said, taking his hand from his mouth. "I told you I'll be fine. I can call you if there's really something, plus, Jess said she'll come over. She texted me yesterday, she's off work today so she'll come hang out with me." I said.
"Okay but she's pregnant. She cant help you stand and move and adjust you to be comfy and get you food." He put his hands on my shoulder, the good one, carefully.
"You'd have to leave anyways to talk to the landlord. You just said so yourself. So go take your morning shower and please shave. I like you better without this." I put my hand over his scruff.
He sighed and nodded, kissing my cheek before heading to the bathroom. I walked out and tried to open the new box of cereal but it was hard to do with just one arm.
Luckily Anna walked into the kitchen. "Need help daddy?" She asked, crawling up on her chair.
"yes please sweetheart." I said.
"there y'go." she said after opening it. I smiled at her and poured her bowl, mine, and one for Cas.
"better?" He said when he came out of the bathroom. he was wearing jeans and a different one of my sweaters.
"mmm. much. There's my handsome boyfriend." I pulled the hoodie strings and kissed him softly.
"Oh." He pulled back and scrunched his face. "I'll help you shave when i get back." He chuckled.
"Okay." I nodded, smiling.
"Go get dressed for daycare, little angel" He ruffled Anna's hair.
"Will you do my hair?" She asked.
"Sure, go get dressed though." he smiled.
She ran to her room.
"You really like my sweaters huh?" I chuckled, looking down at him.
He wrapped his arms around my waist and put his head against my good shoulder. "I really do," He mumbled, kissing my neck.
"Well good, they look good on you." I rubbed his back with my good hand.
"Are you sure you want me to go to work?"
"Castiel. I swear if you ask me one more time. Yes i'm sure." I chuckled.
"Okay. Okay." He chuckled.
He brought Anna to daycare and went to work and Jess came over and we had a decent day, but I really just wanted my Cas to come home and take care of me. He called me at lunch and everything. I love when he calls me, it shows that he's thinking of me.
Around 3 Jess left, she had a doctors appointment for the baby.
So I was alone. I took some pain medication and very carefully and painfully laid down against the couch.
I guess I fell asleep, not really surprising, that medication makes me drowsy, but i woke up when Cas and Anna got home. Cas even had a box, of his things I guess. I struggled to move so i could say hi, so Cas put down the box and helped me. "How are you feeling?"
"Pain." I muttered.
"What do you need? Did you take your medication today?" he asked.
"No." I admitted. "Just pain killers"
He went to go get it for me. "daddy am I going to mommys this weekend?" She asked.
"Yes you are." I smiled at her.
Cas came back with my medication and some bandages to change mine.
"Anna, go play with your dollies, okay? I dont want you to see daddy's wounds." He said.
"okay." She mumbled, walking to her room.
He took of the bandages and carefully disinfected them. I winced slightly and pulled back.
"I'm sorry baby." He whispered, finishing up and bandaging my face again.
"S'okay." I mumbled after fixing up all the bandages he helped me take my shirt off so he could look at my shoulder, which they relocated but still hurt like a bitch and was a yellowish-green bruise. My arm, which was broken, in a cast.. its going to be really inconvenient for when I go back to work, since it is my right hand, and that's the hand I write with. And then the most sensitive part. He got some ice to put on my ribs.
"Now how do you feel?" He smiled at me, sitting beside me as he iced my ribs.
"Better." I nodded.
"Good." He rubbed my leg with his other hand.
"On the way home from daycare, Anna said the other kids were making fun of her cause they thought she was a boy." He frowned.
"Really?" I sighed. "Anna! Can you come here?" I called.
She came out of her room. "Yes?" she sat on the table, in front of where Cas and I were sitting.
"Cas told me about what happened at daycare today." I frowned.
She started tearing up, so Cas went to kneel beside her.
She crawled into his lap and hugged him tightly.
"Sweetie. You're as much of a girl as the other girls. I promise, okay little
angel?" Cas whispered, kissing the top of her head.
"But why did I get born different?" She cried.
"You were just born in the wrong body, sweetie, you're you. You're our Anna. We love you, and just because you were born a boy, doesn't change that you're our little girl." Cas said. My heart melted, watching them. 'our little girl'.
"Daddy loves you, Cas loves you, mommy loves you. We all love you, Anna. It doesn't matter that you were born in the wrong body." I said.
She nodded, sniffling and rubbing her eyes and cuddling into Cas again.
"Would it make you feel better if we ordered pizza?" Cas asked her, she smiled slightly and nodded. So he ordered a pizza.
I've never been more in love with another person. Seeing the way he interacted with my kid, made me realize I want to share that with him. He's an incredible parent.
