Sunday Emptiness

Sundays are definitely not the same anymore without her. No one could make BBQ ribs, peas&Rice, coleslaw and lemonade better than she could. Whenever my mom and Aunt would cook on Sunday, I would always go over at my Aunt's house for food. I never even had to ask. She would always call me and ask if I wanted any( You know my answer was always yes). How could I forget her Sunday baking? No one could top her chocolate cakes or banana bread. She would always call me over and tell me come watch her so I would know how to bake like her. I wish I had took her up on that offer then I would know how to bake all of those delicious sweet treats. I'm going to miss her calling me over at her house to taste her pineapple upside down cake that she had recently learnt to bake. Going over to her house don't even feel the same no more because she's not there to shout my name out and tell me come help her cook. I will always remember these memories because it's the only thing I have left of her. I know she's not here in the flesh but wherever I go she'll be there. When the rain will flow and the rainbow will come out, I know she'll be there. When the sun will shine and the birds will fly, I know she'll be there. When darkness will fall and there's stars in the sky, I know she'll be there. So there's no need to worry because I know she'll always be looking over me; Although it might be hard to carry on, I will always remember that some way, some how, she still won that battle. She was the stronger one during her trial because no matter how much pain she was in she never once shed a tear. She fought those tears back the way any strong person would. Although she's not here for us to tell her it face to face, just know that we're proud of her. I will no longer be juicing fruits for her because she have the best fruit juicer up there by her side. One who will keep her healthier than she's ever been here on earth. Psalms 30:5 simply says "Weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning". I chose this scripture because it helps me to understand that this too shall pass. I might be in mourning now but this will only last for a little while. God said that he would never put more on a person than they could handle. For he knew that my aunt was a mighty strong soldier which was why he chose her to fight that battle and when he noticed that she couldn't take it anymore he allowed her to rest in his arms. No, I am not angry that she's no longer here because I know where ever she is, she is away from all of the pain, sorrows and heart aches. No more fighting, no more going into battle, no more worries for he knew the pain within her and decided to take her home.

We as humans allow our self to be so filled up with worries that we forget the real king in our life. We have one doctor, one lawyer, one father, one creator; yet we still try to battle everything on our own. My aunt had a favorite song that she started to listen to during the time she fell ill and it is a very powerful song indeed. The song is called 'God provides' by Tamela Mann and the chorus goes like this:

God provides, so why do I worry about my life
When you come to my rescue a thousand times
Every other voice it is a lie
God provides

God provides

In ways I can't explain and can't deny
The little that I have he multiplies
Just when I feel he won't show up on time
God provides

He'll come through
When the clouds of doubt rain down on you
And test everything you thought you knew
Now you finally see what God can do, for you

So tonight,
Close your eyes
There's no more need to fight
Watch God provide

She listened to that song every day until it was time to go home to her heavenly father. We never knew how long she put up a fight or that she was even fighting a battle that big but when we found out we were right by her side through it all. We knew she loved us and she knew we loved her very much. My aunt was a secretive one; she kept one of the biggest news away from us for so long. I guess she kept it away from us because she never wanted us to worry about her problems. I use to say have she had told us sooner she would've still been alive today but now I say it was just her time to go. God knew from the time he placed her on this earth what he had planned for her, how she would leave this earth and when she would leave it. If she had told us earlier she would've still been gone today.

Its been a long day without my Aunt and I promise that i'll never forget her. I'll always remember her through the memories we shared together; whether it was bad times or good times i'll remember those memories. It still  feels like a deep dream that I would love to wake up from. Time will pass but the last memories of her being here will forever replay in my mind. My life will never be the same without my Motivator, my #1 supporter, my second mom. I will always love her till am with her.
