'Are you leaving?' Demi asks sleepily as Joe untangles himself from her.
'I need to go get ready for tonight.' He replies smiling as he gently moves some hair out her face.
'Mm...' She mumbles. Without even thinking she leans up and presses her lips against his.
'Thank you for coming over today.' She says pulling away from him causing him to smile.
'You don't have to thank me but remember what I said and talk to Mike... He's just worried about you, Demi.' He replies. Standing up he grabs his jacket and quickly leaves the house as Mike makes his way downstairs.
'Mike... I'm sorry about this morning.' Demi says sitting up and running her fingers through her messy hair.
'You've got nothing to apologise for, Demi. I know you'd never do anything to jeopardise your recovery.' Mike replies causing her to sigh.
'I understand you're worried and I get why you are but honestly I'm a lot stronger than I was all those years ago... Joe and I are just having fun and maybe that'll end in heartache but maybe it won't. Earlier when you were talking about my health and my career I guess it made me feel like I was back in treatment, like I couldn't be trusted to make my own decisions.' She admits and he gasps.
'I never meant for it to come across like that, Demi. I'm so sorry. Never in a million years did I want to make you feel like that. I know you can make your own decisions and I have 100% faith that you'll always make the right decisions for you... I was shocked when you told me you'd slept with Joe and I overreacted.' He says and she shrugs her shoulders.
'It's okay... Was a bit out of the blue.' She replies causing him to smile.
'So earlier you told me it was a one time thing and just there you said the two of you were just having fun... Is this more than a one time thing?' He asks.
'Who knows.' She replies.

'When you're standing there in your underwear and my t-shirt from the night before. With your messed up hair and your feet still bare, would you mind closing the bedroom door?'
Neither Joe or Demi are able to take each seriously throughout the entire song. They've performed this song together before but now they're finding it hard to focus on the audience. When the song comes to an end and he wraps his arms around her waist, Demi finds herself unable to keep the smile off her face.
'Can you stay?' He whispers.
'Mm... I'll be backstage.' She replies quietly.
'Good... Once again give it up for the beautiful Demi Lovato!' Joe says turning back to audience as Demi waves and blows a kiss before walking off stage.
_______
'Did you speak to Mike?' He asks as he leads her through the front door and into the living room. His jacket is wrapped around her shoulders as she clings tightly to his hand.
'Yeah, he said he never intended to make me feel like that and he had 100% faith that I'd make the right decisions for myself.' She replies letting go of his hand and shrugging his jacket off.
'I knew he wouldn't have meant it in a bad way.' He says wrapping his arms around her waist as she rests her head against his chest.
'I'm so tired.' She mumbles.
'Do you want me to sleep on the sofa?' He asks and he feels her laugh vibrate against his chest.
'I wouldn't be here if I wanted to sleep alone.' She replies. She'd texted Mike to let him know she wouldn't be home as soon as she got off stage pretty much. There was just something about waking up in Joe's arms that made her feel completely safe and content.
'Come on then, sleepyhead. You know where the bedroom is.' He says beginning to make his way upstairs. Once in the bedroom he grabs a grey t-shirt and throws it at her before beginning to undress. They both climb into bed and he glances at the clock; it's barely 11pm but he can tell Demi really is exhausted by the way her eyes flicker.
'Night, you...' He whispers placing a soft kiss on the side of her head.
