When We Were Young.

Twenty-Eight.

I'm beginning to feel like this might be dragging on a little and it's became quite boring to write. This is at nearly at 30 chapters and I still have so much I want to do so I've came up with a few options;

• I could continue trying to come up with storylines until I reach the storyline I want.

• I could do a time jump which would take the story to May 2017.

• I could make this into a trilogy and have the storyline be a completely different fic.

The choice is entirely up to you guys, let me know what you think or if you have a better idea.

It's a little after 3am when her phone vibrates on the bedside table and she instantly reaches for it. Lifting it into her hand she yawns and glances at her unread text.

From Joe :
I'm downstairs x

Smiling slightly she slowly climbs out of bed and pulls her robe around her body before making her way downstairs. She quietly unlocks the front door and smiles as she sees Joe leaning against the wall.

'Hi...' She says softly.

'Hey. Did I wake you?' He asks and she shakes her head.

'I couldn't sleep. Come in.' She says stepping out the way.

'I couldn't stop thinking about everything and I'm just so sorry.' He says causing her to shake her head.

'Don't. I think we were both in the wrong and I just want to forget about it.' She replies.

'Are we okay?' He asks and she nods her head.

'We're absolutely fine.' She replies smiling as she wraps her arms around him.

Mike isn't surprised when he makes his way into the living room just after 8am to find both Demi and Joe curled up on the sofa under a blanket.

He'd heard her getting up during the night and was just about to follow her when he heard Joe's voice. Smiling he makes his way into the kitchen and puts the kettle on. He'll be the first to admit that he didn't think them being together was a good idea and he's never made that a secret but over the past few months he's watched as Demi has become a completely different person; she's more content now and he knows that's down to Joe.

'Morning...' Demi mumbles as Mike sits down on the chair opposite them.

'Did I wake you?' Mike asks and she shakes her head. She smiles slightly as she feels Joe's hand rest against her stomach as he kisses her shoulder in his sleep.

'No. I was awake when you went into the kitchen.' She admits.

'So you two made up then?' He asks and she nods her head.

'Our relationship is worth fighting for and fight for it I am going to do.' She replies causing him to smile.

'I don't think you'll need to fight very hard.' He says.

'Mm... He goes on tour next year.' She says and he nods his head.

'I know. How you feeling about that?' He asks.

'It'll be weird being away from him for so long but I know he'll love being on stage... Joe was made to perform and it'll be great seeing him doing that again.' She replies.

'You'll be able to go visit, right?' He asks and she nods her head.

'I'm going to taking things easy next year so I'll be able to go visit whenever I want.' She replies smiling.

'That's good... Any reason you're planning on taking things easy? Planning the pitter patter of little feet maybe?' He asks and she shakes her head.

'No. I just feel like the last few years I've been working so hard that I deserve a break. I'll still record and that but I think I deserve some time off.' She replies.

'You do. What you've done this year is amazing and you should be so proud of yourself, Demi.' He says causing her to smile.

'Thank you and I promise sometime next year I will be out of your hair and you can have your house back.' She replies.

'Don't even worry about it. You can stay here as long as you like, you know that.' He says.
