Obviously I don't know if any songs Demi has written are about Joe but for the benefit of the story these ones are.
'What does it say?' Joe asks as Demi stares down at the little white stick in her hand.
'Negative. It's negative.' She replies. He lets out a sigh of relief as she squeals and jumps into her arms.
'I told you everything would be fine.' He says causing her to smile.
'You don't know how glad I am that it wasn't positive.' She mumbles.
'Is that what you've been worrying about all night?' He asks and she sighs.
'All week... I didn't want to take a test while I was away but I was scared to tell you when I got back.' She admits glancing up at him with tears in her eyes.
'You don't have to be scared to tell me anything, Demi. Regardless of what that test said I would've been here for you.' He says and she nods her head.
'I know. I just- I don't actually know if I can get pregnant, Joe. After everything I put my body through I've never been to get checked out. I don't know if that changes anything for you, for us.' She replies blinking back tears.
'Oh Demi... That changes nothing. I know we said this wasn't anything serious and I don't want to push you but you mean the world to me, more than I ever thought anyone would. Whether we have kids in the future or not, I have you and that's all I've ever wanted.' He says causing her to smile slightly.
'You mean the world to me as well... Maybe we could tell our families about us? Let's keep it from the world for now but we could tell our families.' She suggests and he nods his head.
'We could... I know we said the past is in the past but I never meant to hurt you and I don't think I've ever properly apologised for that... I should never have brought her on the tour with you. It was cruel.' He says.
'I never got over you.' She admits.
'Yes you did... You had Wilmer.' He says and she sighs.
'I moved on, that doesn't mean I was ever fully over you Joe. I wrote songs about you... I loved Wilmer, part of me always will but he's not you.' She replies.
'You wrote songs about me?' He asks and she nods her head.
'A few... I didn't release them all though.' She replies causing him to smile.
'But you released some? Do I get to know which ones?' He asks.
'Stone Cold was about you.' She replies.
'Really?' He asks and she nods her head.
'Yep. Promise me that this isn't just a bit of fun for you Joe? Promise me that I'm not going to let my guard down just to get hurt again?' She says quietly.
'This isn't just a bit of fun, Demi. You are so much more to me than just a bit of fun.' He replies wrapping his arms around her waist.
'You're tired.' He says gently tapping his finger against her nose.
'I am.' She replies and he smiles.
