'You're back! I thought you were out for the whole day.' Demi says smiling as Joe makes his way into the bedroom where Demi is still curled up in his bed.
'Sorry, the meeting dragged on longer than I expected.' He replies hanging his jacket up and making his way over to the bed.
'Everything okay?' She asks glancing down at her phone and he nods his head.
'Everything is fine... You should go home.' He says and she looks up at him.
'What? Why?' She asks.
'Because I'm taking you on a date tonight.' He replies.
'A date?' She asks and he nods his head.
'Yep, a proper date. Don't think I've ever taken you on one.' He says and she shakes her head.
'I don't think you have. Where are we going?' She asks smiling at him.
'It's a surprise.' He replies as she climbs out of bed.
'Oh that's hardly fair! How am I supposed to know what to wear?' She asks climbing out of bed.
'Just dress casual and comfy, you'll look beautiful regardless of what you wear.' He replies smiling.
'I'm keeping this, by the way.' She says gesturing to his grey t-shirt that she's wearing as she pulls her jeans on.
'Looks better on you than it ever looked on me anyway.' He replies smiling as he watches her run her fingers through her hair.
'Well aren't you quite the charmer this afternoon.' She says glancing back at him as she bites her bottom lip.
'Be ready for 10.' He replies wrapping his arms around her waist from behind and resting his head on her shoulder.
'10? That not a bit late?' She asks and he shakes his head.
'Nope. Perfect time for what I have planned.' He replies kissing her cheek.
'Should I be worried?' She asks smiling up at him as she turns around in his arms.
'You never need to be worried... You'll enjoy this I promise.' He replies.
'Do you need me to bring anything?' She asks causing him to shake his head.
'Just yourself. You can bring Batman if you want.' He replies smiling.
'Okay, that's interesting... I'll see you later.' She says.

'So what's your plans for tonight? Are you going to be here or?' Mike asks and Demi shakes her head.
'No... Joe's taking on a date so he's picking me up around 10ish but I'll be taking Batman with me tonight.' She replies smiling.
'A date, ey? I thought this was just a bit of fun.' Mike says and she shrugs her shoulders.
'It's still fun but something changed... We're not in a relationship I know that I am in no way ready for another relationship but I really want to see what happens with Joe.' She replies unable to keep the smile off her face.
'I know I was a bit against this but I've not seen you smile like that in a long time, Demi. I think he could be good for you.' He says.
'Mmm... I'm going to go for a lie down. Can you wake me at 8 if I'm not up?' She asks and he nods his head.
'Course I can.' He replies.

'So do I get to find out where we're going?' Demi asks as she sits in the passenger seat with Batman on her knee while Joe drives.
'We're going for a picnic.' He replies.
'A picnic? Joe it's practically the middle of the night.' She says causing him to laugh.
'I know... I thought we could watch the sunrise together?' He suggests.
'Oh my god, Joe... That is the sweetest idea ever!' She says smiling.
'You like it?' He asks and she nods her head.
'I love it.' She replies.

'I'm glad you've enjoyed it.' He replies kissing the top of her head. Yawning she closes her eyes as Batman sleeps peacefully by her side.
'You wanna go home?' He asks and she shakes her head.
'Let's just stay here for a bit and pretend the rest of the world doesn't exist.' She says causing him to smile.
'Okay.' He replies wrapping his arm around her shoulders.
'Just me, you and Batman against the world.' She whispers and he laughs slightly. He knows she's been having a rough time with the media lately and wanted to take her mind off everything that's been happening.
