'Why can't you just be happy for me?' Demi asks as she stares at Eddie's face on the laptop screen; she'd been in the middle of skyping Madison when he'd interrupted and another argument began.
'Because I've been there when you weren't happy and I don't want to see that again. He knows exactly how to hurt you, Demi. He knows all your insecurities which makes you an easy target during arguments.' Eddie replies.
'Believe it or not, we have argued and he's never thrown things back in my face. If anything I've been the one to bring up the past during an argument. You always say you only want me to be happy? Well I am happy and Joe is a big part of my happiness.' Demi says.
'Well more fool you. I just don't know if I can accept him into our family again.' Eddie replies as Dianna appears beside him.
'You two liked Joe before I told you we were in a relationship?' Demi says and Eddie sighs.
'But we love you more.' Eddie replies and Demi shakes her head as Joe makes his way into the room.
'Babe, I've made you some pancakes.' He says before noticing a single tear fall down her cheek.
'What's happened, babe?' He asks instantly rushing to her side.
'I will speak to you later.' Demi replies before ending the Skype call and closing the laptop.
'They just don't get it.' She almost whispers.
'Hey, come here... Don't let them get you down. I'll just have to work hard to prove to them that I'm serious about this and I don't mind doing that.' He says wrapping his arms around her. Tears stream down her cheeks as she rests her head against his chest.
'Do you want to come see Valentina with me?' He asks and she shakes her head.
'Will you think I'm being horrible if I say no?' She asks.
'Of course not. You've had a lot to deal with, a lot to process this week and I completely understand.' He replies running his hand down her back.
'I feel so drained.' She mumbles.
'Get some sleep? I'm not going to Kevin's until later so I'll stay here until you fall asleep.' He says and she nods her head. They've spent the past few days trying to process the information that Demi might not be able to have kids and although Demi knew it was a possibility it doesn't make it hurt any less.

Her heart aches at the thought that she might not be able to give Joe the children he's always wanted and as she gazes down at the picture, Valentina looking so tiny in his arms, she hopes more than anything they'll be able to have a family in the future.

'Hey...' Demi mumbles sleepily as Joe climbs into behind her.
'Hi, you hungry?' He asks and she shakes her head.
'Just tired.' She replies quietly.
'Go back to sleep then. I've put dinner in the oven so it'll keep warm until you're ready.' He says running his hand down her side as she rolls over and cuddles into his side.
'Do you want kids?' She asks.
'And don't give me any of this 'I just want you' bullshit. I want the honest truth.' She adds causing him to sigh.
'I'd love kids. I watch Kevin with the girls and a part of me does really want that in the future.' He says and she nods her head.
'Me too... Promise me we'll have a family one day?' She asks sleepily and he kisses the top of her head.
'I promise.' He replies.

'Hello, Demi's phone.' Joe says as he holds her phone to his ear while she sleeps peacefully with her head resting against his chest.
'J-Joe, is that you?' Dianna asks and he takes a deep breath.
'Yeah. Demi's asleep at the moment, it's been a rough few days for her but if you need me to wake her?' He replies hearing Dianna sigh.
'Eddie's in hospital. They don't know what happened but they suspect a heart attack.' Dianna says causing Joe to gasp.
'Okay. Is he okay?' Joe asks.
'We're not sure. They've said it's critical at the moment.' Dianna replies.
'I'll make sure Demi gets to Dallas as soon as possible.' He says hearing Dianna take a deep breath.
'W-Will you come with her? She'll need you.' She asks.
'If you'll be okay with me there? I know I'm not exactly your favourite person.' He replies.
'You clearly make my daughter happy. She's going to need you if this doesn't work out the way I hope it will.' She says.
'Okay. We'll be there as soon as we can.' He replies.
'Thank you, Joe. I appreciate it.' Dianna says.

'Hey, don't think like that. He's strong and he's going to get through this, plus he already knows how much you love him.' He says kissing the side of her head.
'Don't leave me?' She almost whispers and he shakes his head.
