Something that Sonata would get used to sleeping in the same bed with Sam was the nightmares. It wasn't uncommon for Sam to wake up in a cold sweat, feeling a horrible feeling crawl up his throat. Sonata would feel the tossing and turning of the sheets and would wake up. Some of the first times she tried to wake up Sam he would attack her (she wound up with bruises on her neck one time).

He would soon realize it was her a profusely apologize. And if he hurt her he would freak out sometimes, offering to sleep on the couch again, so when he would wake up he wouldn't hurt anybody. Sonata refused to let (maybe even cry) him sleep on the couch again, he needed someone to be there for him when he would wake up. He ran his fingers through his hair, "Sam...what did happen to you...during the war." He looked at her, tears started to welling in his eyes. She went to speak, "If you don't-" He interrupted, "No...y-you should know." He looked back at his lap.

She placed a hand on his chin so he would look at her, when he did she gently ran her index finger along the scar that marked his face. He closed his eyes and leaned into the touch, "I got captured in the war. And I was...I was tortured for, well I don't know how long. It felt like years. That's where I got the scar from, I almost went blind because of it." He spoke in an even tone, trying to not let his voice break.

Sonata placed a soft kiss where the two jagged lines met, by his eyebrows. She placed her hand on his cheek again, "Don't ever think of this," She gently tapped the scar, "as a weakness. Own your scars, let them be your armor, so they may never hurt you." He gave a small smile and kissed her, "Te amo, mi luz." She smiled and raised her eyebrow. He smiled back, "I love you, my light."

(AN//: Hello my readers, I'm so sorry I haven't posted in a while and that this is such a short chapter. I hope you enjoyed it, though. Being back in school now, it's hard trying to get some writing in between so here's...well whatever this even was. Love you all)
