Week 2:
"Adalyn..." Joe turned to me as we walked through the park.
"Yeah Joe?" we stopped at a cherry blossom tree,
"When we get home, can you sing for me?" he asked,
"Well, I just...I don't know," I replied and sat down on a large root. He scratched his neck awkwardly, "Why do you want me to Joe?"
"A friend of mine really wants to hear you sing, he wants me to get a video and send it to him," I looked at him sceptically,
"Are you doing that thing where you talk about yourself as 'a friend'?" he shook his head,
"No I'm being serious, he is a real guy, he's just interested," I was still unsure if he was actually telling the truth.
"Alright, but it's only for your eyes and his,"
We spent the day at the park and we had a picnic lunch. It was really fun, just Joe and I roaming the park. We walked back through the streets of Perth,
"It's a shame the day is over, it was really fun hanging out, just the two of us," I said as we turned back into his house,
"We still have tonight," he said in a hopeful tone. We went upstairs to his room and sat on his bed, "Can we record this video?" he asked.
I positioned myself next to the laptop and searched a song. I got up the karaoke lyrics and Joe set the camera up.
"You don't have to sing the whole song, maybe just a verse and chorus," he said and started the camera. I played the music,
'Hey, I was doing just fine before I met you, I drink too much and that's an issue but I'm okay, Hey, you tell your friends it was nice to meet them, But I hope I never see them again, I know it breaks your heart, Moved to the city in a broke down car, And four years, no calls, Now you're looking pretty in a hotel bar, And I can't stop, No, I can't stop,' Joe stopped the camera and he came and hugged me,
"Wow Ada! That was awesome, wait till he gets a load of this!" he smiled at me. I smiled back. We re-watched the video, "Adalyn, I like this," he said.
"I like it too," I went and sat on his bed,
"I mean, I like this...in general," he explained, I was still confused,
"I don't know what you mean," I raised an eyebrow,
"Hanging out with you, being close with you, getting to know you, everything with you in general," I blushed deeply,
"Well, in that case...I like this too,"
