Week 4:

Mum and I were walking through the streets of Perth. We both had luggage clamped in our hands,

"So what have you and Tracey been doing?" I asked, curious as to why she was out of the house for so long.

"Well, we went shopping and saw some movies and we did a bit of clubbing. We went to that show thing and met with a few old friends. Did you know Suzie had another kid? As if seven weren't enough!" she cried out exasperatedly. I nodded,

"I'm sure I would've known if I'd ever met or heard of Suzie," I suddenly regretted asking her to take me to the airport. It was nice having someone help with the luggage but for some reason we had grown awkward with our conversations. Maybe it was better that she was out of the house.

"I'm sure you would have met her, probably when you were younger," I nodded. It made sense,

"You seem to have lost touch with a lot of your friends," we kept walking and looking around, not making eye contact.

"You'll write to me won't you?" she suddenly asked.

"I'll text you, mum," I rolled my eyes. We walked through the gates and she dropped my stuff. Mum went to leave but I stopped her, "I don't get a hug? No kiss on the cheek? Not even a goodbye or an 'I love you'?" she gave me a hugged and kissed my cheek,

"Goodbye, I love you," she turned and left. I hunched over,

"What has gotten into her?" I stared after her gaping. I took a seat in front of the gate I was meant to board from,

"Hello again," it was Conner Franta.

"Hey Conner, are you going back to Darwin?" I asked,

"I am. Why are you going back?" I leant back in the chair,

"There's this boy, his name is Joe Sugg," he looked at me excitedly,

"ThatcherJoe? He lives here?!" I nodded. Connor started fangirling uncontrollably. Then he saw my sad look, "What happened?"

"I was meant to be staying with him and his mum but he started getting mean and we fought a lot so I've decided to stay with my friend Tyler for the rest of the holidays," I explained,

"Wow, I didn't think Joe would be so mean. I am definitely unsubscribing," I laughed.

"I'm sure he's nice to others, you don't have to unsubscribe," I patted his back.

"Good because his prank videos are the best!" our flight was called so we both boarded the flight. We weren't sitting together so we said goodbye and took our seats. I listened to music and dozed off during the flight.

"Come on, sleepy head, wake up!" one of the airhostesses was gently shaking my shoulders, "We've landed," I woke up and grabbed my luggage. I waited in the airport for a bit.

It had been about half an hour and Tyler still wasn't here. I grabbed out my phone to message him. I pressed the on button but the screen remained black. I pressed the home button instead but it wouldn't turn on.

"Of course it's flat," I moaned. I walked to the front of the airport and sat by a large sign, "I hope Tyler hasn't messaged me," I sat around for an hour doing nothing. I had purchased some food but Tyler still hadn't showed up.

"Hey Ada! Hey!" I looked around for the owner of the voice.

"Hey Fanny, what are you doing here?" I stood up and she gave me a hug.

"See girls. I told you I knew Adalyn," she boasted, "This is Jenna, Bunny and Remi," she pointed to each girl as she said their name. They all smiled as she introduced them. Jenna gave me a pen and I signed their shirts. They squealed together in excitement,

"Bye Ada!" I waved them away and sat down. I started worrying about why Tyler wasn't here yet.

"Ada! Over here," I saw him waving from the car. I grabbed my luggage and brought it over to him,

"What took you so long?" I asked.

"I texted you but you didn't reply so I figured you weren't here yet. We're only here because we thought you'd be here by now," he explained.

"Yeah, my phone went flat," His mum came out of the airport with some Skittles. She handed us each a packet,

"Hi Jackie," I smiled to her.

"Hello Darling," she started up the car.
