Week 3:

I sat on the couch resting my head against the side until my phone buzzed. I groaned and sat up to retrieve it.

"I got it," Joe handed it to me and I rested back in the couch. Joe had been looking after me and catering to my every need ever since we'd gotten back from the hospital. I gave him a grateful smile and checked my messages; it was from an unknown number. I read the message,

Unknown: Hello Adalyn, I'm Tyler Oakley and I'd like to invite you to Darwin. It would be a week's stay and in that time we would record a video. I can get you a flight with Qantas in two days' time. Message me back as soon as you've made a decision, thanks.

My phone buzzed another two times and they were both from unknown numbers.

Unknown: Hello Adalyn, I'm Ryan Higa and I'd like to invite you to Darwin. It would be a week's stay and in that time we would record a video. My friend can get you a flight with Qantas in two days' time. Message me back as soon as you've made a decision, thanks.

Unknown: Hello Adalyn, I'm Joey Graceffa and I'd like to invite you to Darwin. It would be a week's stay and in that time we would record a video. My friend can get you a flight with Qantas in two days' time. Message me back as soon as you've made a decision, thanks.

"What is it," Joe asked. I showed him the messages and he nodded, "Tyler is the friend I was telling you about, I don't know who Ryan and Joey are," he looked at me, his eyes asked the question that I couldn't answer,

"I don't know if I'll accept, I'd like to go but singing for a video with three strangers? And what would my mum think if I just left for a week? And I wouldn't want to leave you for a week," I started stressing.

"Hey, it's all good, just rest," he patted my back but I couldn't rid the thought from my brain. I decided to text Tyler back.

Me: What would happen if I accepted?

I didn't have to wait long for a response,

Tyler: I would send you a link to the ticket and you would get on the plane.

Me: would I be able to take anyone with me?

Tyler: I would only purchase one ticket

Me: and what if the person bought their own ticket?

Tyler: You ask a lot of questions

Me: and you're asking me to leave my home for a week with no one

Tyler: Touché

Tyler: but you wouldn't be alone, you would stay with me and my friends and we'd record the video and send you back after one week

Me: and if I decide not to go?

Tyler: then it would be a shame.

Me: I have to ask my mum,

Tyler: the offer is off the table tomorrow

Me: then I'll ask her tonight

Tyler: okay

Me: ttyl

Tyler: bye

"Joe, where's my mum?" he looked at me questionably, "I have to ask her if I can go,"

"So you decided to go? That's great!" he beamed.

"If she lets me," just at that moment she came through the door, "Hey mum, where've you been?"

"Tracey's been having me out all day; sorry I haven't been able to see you. By the way, I loved my Christmas present," she smiled,

"Can I go to Darwin?" I asked.

"Why would you need to go?" she countered.

"I've been offered a plane ticket; if I go then I'll be able to spread my singing, just like you've always wanted," she nodded.

"Alright, you can go. How long?"

"Just a week, then I'll be home," I was suddenly eager,

"Okay, when do you leave?" she started heading to her room upstairs.

"Umm, New Years Day..." she turned back to me,

"In two days?!" she was astonished.

"Yes," she sighed and shook her head,

"The things I do for you. You can pack today or tomorrow but don't leave it to the last minute," she rushed into her room.

I whipped out my phone and sent a text to Tyler, Ryan and Joey.

Me: See you in Darwin.
