"Nandini listen to me. Calm down. Tell me what happened??" Manik tried breaking the hug to look at me but I was not ready to part away.

I was too scared to lose him. Iwas scared if I would break the hug he will disappear. He will vanish.

"Man...ik..." I said in between my sobs

"I am here Nandini. Tell me. What happened??" Manik whispered in my ears. In a very soft, loving tone. Caressing one of my cheeks while his other hand was over my shoulders taking me into a protective hug.

"Please stay like this. Please." I pleaded as I wanted him to be with me. To hold me tight. To hide me in his embrace. To make me forget what happened a few minutes back.

He obliged my request and didexactly what I wanted him to do. He took me into a tight. Protective hug. Pushingme into his chest to give me his warmth to feel his presence.

I just clung to him as a child clings to her mother.

"Manik" I screamed in horror as I saw that same person standing at the end of the corridor.

"What happened Nandini?" Manik asked cupping my face with a worried expression.

"Woh... Woh... Someone is there..." I said in a shivering tone pointing towards the end of the corridor looking at Manik.

"No one is there Nandini," Manik said looking in the direction which I pointed at. Even I looked but this time no one was there.

"Manik trust me. Someone was there." I told Manik

"But Nandini no one is there..."

Why is he not believing me?

"I told Nah. Someone was there. Why are you not believing me." I shouted at him.

"Nand..." He tried to say something but I interrupted...

"Fine. You don't believe me Nah... Come with me." Saying this I dragged Manik with me.

I switched on the lights to show him the walls of the corridors.

"See..." I said turning towards Manik.

"See what Nandini."

"You think it's a joke or what. Can't u see the red paint on the walls," saying I turned around and saw the walls. I was shocked looking at it

It was as white as snow. Like no marks on it.

"How is this possible."

I went near one of the walls and started roaming my hands on it.

"Trust me Manik there were words written in red paint. Right here. Everywhere on the walls." I continuously started chanting and repeating the same sentences over and over again. Rubbing my hand vigorously on the wall.

"Nandini stop, please. Let's go." Manik said trying to pull me but I was determined to prove myself.

"No," I said pulling my hand away from his.

"No. Come I'll show you that I am not lying. Washroom door is broken and even the mirrors have red paint on it. " saying this I again pulled Manik with me ignoring all his protests.

But I stopped as soon as we reached near the washroom door.

"How is this possible." Saying this I turned towards Manik but again turned towards the washroom and entered inside only to get a shock.

"Manik trust me I broke the door with a rod. The door was broken. There was red paint on the mirror. "

I even opened the tap.

"Even the color of the water was red. Trust me. I am not lying." I tried proving my point again n again. I wanted him to believe me.

"Nandini I believe you. I trust you." Manik said cupping my face looking straight into my eyes.

"Really." I almost whispered. Captivated by his eyes.

"Yes..."

The next moment I hugged him. He too responded by the same force.

"Let's go home Nandini."

I just nodded still hugging him.

Manik tried to break the hug.

"Nandini..."

"Hmm..." And hugged him tighter.

"How will we go home if you won't break the hug. If u won't leave me."

The fear started engulfing me again as his two words "Leave me" started recapitulating in my mind again and again.

"Don't. Don't leave me."

I was scared to lose him.

The next moment I was in his arms as he carried me in a bridal style.

"I will never leave you Nandini.Neither now nor later" Manik said looking into my eyes.

I just nodded. Rested my head near his neck. My hands around his neck, eyes closed.

The ride to my house was silent neither of us spoke.

I was looking outside the window. Thinking about today's incident. Everything was so confusing. I mean I broke the door. How did it get fixed up so soon and the washroom and corridor? It looked like nothing happened there. Everything was perfectly in its position.

Suddenly I saw the same girl standing on the other side of the road.

"Manik. Manik look there that's the same girl." I turned towards Manik to tap his shoulder to gain his attention and told him to look in the direction where the girl was standing.

But she disappeared.

"Nandini no one is there," Manik said looking at the direction I pointed towards. He had stopped the car.

"But just now I saw the girl. I swear. I saw her."

I don't know what is happening to me. What is wrong with me. I held my head with both my hands. Looking down.

I saw two hands encircling my waist. I turned up and saw Manik looking at me with a bright smile on his face.

He lifted me effortlessly and made me sit on his lap.

I immediately encircled my legs around his waist.

"Nandini. Just calm down. I am here with you, now and forever. Nothing can separate us. I won't leave you. So stop worrying. Okay." Saying this Manik pecked my lips.

I smiled and hugged him in thesame position. Hiding my face in the crook of his neck taking in his colognefragrance which is my peace.

He didn't protest. Instead, he wrapped one of his hands around my back pulling me more closer to him.

He drove the car.
