POV Crystal
Knock! Knock! Knock!
"Crystal it is time. Crystal!" the emperor said sternly.
He opened the door a crack and peaked in. Realizing the room was empty, he began looking under Crystal's bed and searching her closet, looking for any sign of where she could have gone. Suddenly, he heard a crack. Looking closer at the ground, he noticed tiny shards of ice and jewels littering the floor. They belonged to his daughter's tiara. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a piece of paper on her desk. Her ceremonial dress was laid slightly ripped on the chair. Cautiously, he picked up the piece of paper and read it to himself.
Dear Father,
I am writing to you to say that I can no longer live this life of misery. I hate being quiet, my dress, and most of all being forced to marry Pahu. He would make a great husband for your idea of a perfect daughter, but I am not that kind of daughter. I want more to life than sitting silently and being ordered around by everyone I know. I have to find my own path and make my own choices as Mother once said.
Your daughter,
Crystal
P.S. Suck my balls. Pip taught me that insult. I may not know what that means but it sounds like a good insult.
The emperor lifted his eyes from the paper and glared at the picture of his wife on Crystal's desk. He picked it up and threw it on the ground.
"This is your fault!" he screamed, "Oww. Dammit! That hurt!" he said hopping on one foot ,"Son of a Bitch that was a bad idea to throw the glass picture on my foot!"
After the pain wore away he continued, "You put those childish ideas into her head! She cannot be controlled now!" he shouted even louder at the broken picture, "Men! Assemble a team and find her!" he yelled at the door, "Bring her servant too. Dead or alive!"
Then, the emperor noticed something. One of the knobs on Crystal's dresser was farther in than the rest of the other knobs. He walked over and tried to pull it out but it wouldn't budge. After, he pushed it in and luckily for him, he heard creaking noises and the floor slid open. revealing a staircase.
"I found out where they went!" he yelled.
Finally, we made it down the stairs. Pip shown her flame into the dank, darkness in front of us. Ahead of Pip and I, were two narrow, eroding tunnels.
"Which one do we take?" I asked.
"I'm not sure. Take out the map." said Pip.
I reached into my pocket and took out the map.
"Uhh. Take the....right tunnel!" I said.
Suddenly, we heard the sound of pounding footsteps on the staircase echoing throughout the tunnel. Our eyes widened and we bolted into the right tunnel. The flame Pip had provided went out as we cantered into hallway after hallway.
"Pip." sigh...sigh, "I can't go on any longer. I need a break." I said out of breath.
"Okay." Pip sighed also out of breath.
We sat down against the wall and rested. As we caught our breath, Pip
created another flame and it appeared over her hand. This time she did not need a candle to keep the fire alive. I tried not to look surprised about it.
"Alright. We are here." Pip announced pointing to a spot on the map, "And we want to get here." she said pointing to a far away spot.
The echoing gait of my father's army faded as we strategized how to get to the exit that Pip had pointed out. Surprisingly, the tunnels were actually very peaceful and quiet. Only the sounds of dripping water could be heard. Like a blizzard the stress and worry that had been building up in my head had blown away now that I didn't have to marry Pahu. I sighed with relief, closed my eyes and leaned against the cold wall. Suddenly, the booming footsteps could be heard again. We leaped onto our feet and dashed down the closest hall. Turn after turn I followed Pip, but as I began to slow, Pip sped up. There began to grow a distance between us and soon I lost sight of her gray dress and long brown braid. I stopped to a halt after another sharp turn. Before me, of course, were four tunnels each going in a different direction.
"Piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip!" I screamed into the dark tunnels.
The only response I got was an imitation of my own voice bouncing off of the gloomy walls. I decided to choose one tunnel to go down and search for Pip. To determine this I used a very sophisticated method by calculating the probabilities of whether Pip would be in each tunnel or not...
"Eenie. Meenie. Myine. Moe. Catch a tiger by the toe. If he hollers let him go. Out goes Y. O. U!"
My finger was pointing towards the tunnel directly in front of me. Trusting my method, I began running and screaming "Pip" down the tunnel. All of the sudden a muffled voice broke the silence of the tunnels. The sound grew clearer and clearer.
"Run Crystal! Run!" screamed a strangled voice.
I ran towards the sound of Pip's voice ignoring her command.
Finally, I found her, but not just her. Choking her with his strong, bulging muscular arms was Pahu.
"Let her go!" I shrieked.
"You have to come with me." he said in a stern, deep voice.
"I'd rather die than marry you." I scoffed.
"Maybe so, but would you rather Pip die than having to marry me?" he asked his lip curling into a cold blooded grin.
All of the blood in my face rushed down to my toes. He grinned and pulled out a long chain.
"No!" Pip howled, "They will kill me anyway. Get out of here while you still have the chance!"
"Silence!" Pahu shouted as he slapped her face.
Pip let out a quiet cry, a long red scratch ran across her cheek from where Pahu's rings came in contact with her skin. Pahu raised his hand again to slap her, causing Pip to cower in fear.
"Stop! I'll go with you." I sobbed.
"That's what I thought." he said as he reached out to chain my hands.
"No!" Pip screamed as her hand burst into a fiery ball of hell.
She threw a fireball at him and burned his leg. I could hear the sizzle of his now scorched flesh. Shakingly, she stood up and hurtled another fireball at him, but this time he caught on to her tactics and dodged it with great elegance. He threw an ice dagger at her and she too dodged it but just by a hair. Then, he threw five more at her, all of which she avoided, but I could tell she was getting tired. I tried to join the fight but before I could, Pahu froze my hands and feet to the ground and wall. While he was freezing my hands and feet, Pip was able to throw another fireball at him. Caught off guard, he fell to the ground with third degree burns all over his chest. She ran over to me and quickly started helping me out of my trap. I had forgotten for the moment that I could have manipulated the ice to leave my hands and feet, but I was too shocked and consumed by the fight. Without warning, I saw Pahu raise his last dagger as Pip melted the ice. Before the word "look out" could even leave my mouth, the dagger had already stabbed Pip's stomach. Pip cried out and clutched her stomach. She pulled away her hands to reveal a dark, red stain growing and growing on her wool, gray dress. She sank down to the floor clutching her wound. I kneeled down to her. Her forehead was dotted with beads of sweat, her breathing became raspy.
"I'm fine, now go!" she croaked.
"I won't leave you!" I cried.
"Oh yes you will!" yelled Pahu furiously as he stood up.
"You did this!" I shouted at him.
And then the air around me got colder. Snowflakes started materializing and were swirling around me in a frenzy. My eyes turned as white as snow. I rose off the ground in my tornado of ice and snow and picked him up with me as well. Letting all of my anger consume me I pointed my hands at him and out came a wave of snow and ice. He was thrust against the wall. With all my strength I began freezing his legs and arms to the wall. It was then that I realized that he didn't have the energy or strength to unfreeze himself. With the advantage on my side I thrust even more snow and ice at him freezing everything but his head. His face became paler and his breaths grew short. All that was left was to freeze was his face, then he would suffocate and die. I suddenly stopped.
"Was this really the person I would like to become? A killer?" I thought.
The blizzard vanished and so did my white eyes.
"I always knew you were you were weak. A coward." he mocked.
"Shut up." I retorted as I threw an ice block at his head which knocked him out.
Suddenly, I remembered Pip. I turned around and ran towards her. Her fist sized stain had grown to cover her entire belly. She lay on the ground eyes barely open. Between her shaking breaths she managed to smile.
"Oh Pip!" I wailed, "This is all my fault!"
"Don't say that!" Pip whispered, "You...you have to unlock the door to your future and live your own life free. My time is done." she wheezed, putting a key into my hand.
"Stop it Pip! You're going to be okay! You're going to be okay." I ordered as a tear slid down my cheek,"Wait. Did you know that you weren't coming with me?"
"I..I promised your mom I...I would help you escape when the time was right." she said as she wiped my tear away.
I held onto her hand as she continued to wipe away my tears.
"Tell my sons I love them." she whispered, "And Crystal."
"Yes?"
"Good luck." and with that her hand fell to the ground.
"No! Oh, Pip." I sobbed as tears began spilling out of my eyes.
I brushed my fingers over her eyelashes to close her eyes, and then my head collapsed into my hands in a hysterical fit of crying.

Hey! Sorry Pip's death isn't a tear jerker and is pretty corny.
Will Crystal be able to find Pip's sons?
Will she ever stop crying?
Tune in next time.
