Broken Smile

Kade went back to school the following Monday , he wasn't sure what people expected from him. He couldn't eat , sleep , or even think about anything else than Chay.

Amy was concerned about his emotions and "soon coming depression" because he has stayed in the hospital for the past four days. Kade didn't argue with her because she was right...

"Kade!! Omg how are you doing?", was asked at least 35 times before 3rd period. He didn't know how to feel , but his response was "I'm fine , thanks".

Chay still hasn't woken up and it's been 10 days since since she's been in the hospital, the Doctor said it usually takes up to 14 days for a person to wake up after they fall into a traumatic coma. They still can't tell if she has any brain damage. Kade was planning on going to visit her after school let's out.

This felt like the longest day of Kade's life.

By the time P.E. rolled around , he was definitely ready to head to the hospital , half of the school would give gifts to him to give to Chay, and the other half would just stare at him.

2:45 p.m. *the last bell rings*

"Alright you all are dismissed , we hope to see you again tomorrow Mr. Neeley", the P.E. teacher said.

"Yeah , you too , see ya", Kade said as he ran to the school building to get his backpack. His mom took him to the hospital , and then she headed to work, "Kade are you sure that Caleb is going to pick you up?"

"Yeah , mom he's coming"

"Alright sweetheart , I'll see you later tonight I love you"

"Okay , I love you too"

Kade finally made it to Chay's room , she was asleep. Since Chay has been in the hospital , Kade has tried his best to catch the person who hit her, trying to get his mother's lawyers advice and help.

"Yes sir, Chay saw my friend and I at prom. As she came running toward me ,a car came out of nowhere hit her and fled....it looked like a black suburban. I'm not sure the year though..yes she's been in a coma ever since ....I'm not sure the Doctor can't really tell with her asleep like this..okay I appreciate it , okay you too".

After Kade got off of the phone with the lawyer , his phone started ringing from an unknown caller.

"Hello?"

"Why you've surprised me Kade, you actually answered the phone"

"Who is this?!"

"It's for me to know and for you to find out ...I've noticed you didn't like my visit ..or what I've done to your precious girlfriend"

"I want answers and I want them now!! Do you understand me?! You will never EVER come near me or anyone I love"

"Alright hot head , you've got your wish"

"Is the only reason why you called me is to taunt? If so you're wasting my time-"

"No , I've decided to give you a riddle so you can attempt to guess who I am.."

"Wait .. I'm not falling for any tricks or into anything that has strings attached"

"No , not anything like that.. my riddle is : I'm easy to find , but not easy to identify
I'm not really fond of being kind to her anymore , trust me I tried
The more I try to run and hide , the more I have to lie
Everytime I see her broken smile it reminds me of what I've put her through this time.."
