Kade and Chay just looked at each other. They both had the same confession to make.
Jared looked at them both, knowing everything was about to hit the fan.
They were both at a loss for words, and the friction was as thick as butter.
Chay stood up , walked up to him and said, "Hey.. I need to tell you something", she was looking up to him into his bright blue eyes.
He nodded his head slowly, "Yeah me too"
Chay grabbed his hand , and brought him over to the kitchen table. He sat down in the chair next to her.
"Okay, here goes nothing", she mumbled. Her heart was racing, and her palms were starting to sweat. Jared gave her a reassuring look that everything was going to be alright.
Chay told him how it happened. From her appointment , to going to the movies, and to kissing her therapist's nephew on the front porch. She felt a load had been taken off of her back. Like a bandaid was ripped off.
"I'm so sorry", she said hugging him. The emotionless look on Kade's face was horrifying. Chay didn't know what he was thinking, and that was very scary.
Jared looked over at her , then looked over at Kade.
"Dude, aren't you going to say anything? She's just admitted her wrongs , and she didn't have to" , he said expecting his younger brother to have a different response.
Kade was still staring at Chay. He didn't speak , and he didn't move.
"Kade? Just say something. Yes I screwed up , and I'm sorry". She actually ,for once, wasn't crying. She was tired of crying, and was ready to tell the truth.
"Well", Kade said faintly. He cleared his throat and continued , "I messed up as well", and he proceeded to tell her what happened.
Honestly Chay wasn't shocked ,but she was hurt just as much as he was. Kade of course was trying to redeem himself , and their relationship. They hadn't had a spark or interest in each other for weeks.
"Look I'm going to let you guys work this out. I'm going to bed", Jared said walking to his bedroom.
"Goodnight" they both said unicine.
"Chay. I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me..well us. I mean maybe we can try to fix it?-", he said. He really didn't know what to do. Kade hasn't felt anything with Chay on a long time, at least for three months. They tried going on dates , and even dates at the house. They've tried to have game nights , movie nights , date nights. But things weren't the same , and they both knew it never would be.
"Look Kade , honestly I don't know what we are anymore", Chay said addressing the elephant in the room.
"Baby-"
"You don't get to call me that anymore. You don't think I've tried? I've tried to go on dates with you , and I've tried to reconnect that spark we once had"
"Well maybe you need to talk try a little harder, because you've never picked up any slack in this relationship!"
"Maybe it was because I was in a freaking comma or I was kidnapped! It took you a while to come and get to me when Westyn had me hemmed up in that cabin-"
"What does that have to do with anything?!"
"What were you doing? We're you contemplating on coming and getting me?"
"You've lost it for sure now Chay! You could have saved yourself on so many occasions. I've done everything for you! I stayed out of school and missed a major scholarships because of you! I've missed so many deadlines because of you! Now I have to retake my first ACT test , and I know you couldn't care less! And you've never appreciated me , EVER!" , Kade was fuming and screaming at this point.
