Room 6625

"Ms. Brianna I need to tell you something..Chay was involved in a hit and run , and I'm in the Ambulance with her , and they are taking her to Children's Hospital. I will keep you posted, I'm really sorry..I'll talk to you later..bye", Kade hung up, as he rode beside Chay in the Ambulance. He felt like his air supply was getting shorter everytime he took a breath.

The paramedic was checking Chay's vitals. After he finished , he said , "Well , her heart beat is steady , blood pressure is very low. I'm sure the Doctors will want to take tests , she will be the first one they'll be seeing tonight , since her situation is very critical".

"Critical?"

"Well while we were loading her up in the ambulance , she was falling into an induced coma"

"What? Was it because of the impact?"

"Oh I'm sure, well here we are"

As they took Chay in the hospital , the nurse asked for her information , name , ect. "Her first and last name , sir?"

"Chay Richardson"

"Okay , only immediate family is aloud to visit the patients on the floor she'll be going to , are you of any relation?"

"Yes, I'm her brother", he said lying.

"Okay , her room number is 6625 on the 6th floor"

"Okay thank you so much"

They took so many tests Kade couldn't keep count. His phone was blowing up with texts and phone calls , he felt like his life couldn't be more screwed up. His girlfriend was just involved in a hit and run , and now she's in a coma. Antonio was texting him like it was going out of style:

Where are you?!
How did it exactly happen?
Is she okay?
Brianna is freaking out, we are on our way!
What hospital are you at?
Will they be transferring her somewhere else?

The questions went on and on , but Kade answered every text , and accepted every call.

"Sir, we will be sending her to her room now"

"Wait , so what were the test results?"

"The Dr. will be coming in tomorrow morning to speak with you. You are welcome to go home and get some clothes , and whatever else you will need"

"Oh , I'm not going anywhere. I'll have someone get it for me", Kade insisted with a fake smile.

"Alright well let's go"

They made it to her room , it was your basic hospital room: bathroom , hospital bed, an extra fold-up bed , no TV though , Kade didn't even care.

The paramedics came in with Chay and transferred her to the hospital bed. She was sound asleep , or sound asleep in a coma. They hooked up an I.V. to her right arm, and left. As Kade tucked her in , a male nurse came in , "Hi there , I'm Lawrence , and I'll be her nurse tonight" , he said as he wrote his name and pager number on the board. "Your welcome to write today's date on the board, if you need anything please page me , and I'll be glad to come back"

"Okay it's nice to meet you , I'm Kade"

"It's nice to meet as well , Kade. I'll be at the nurses station if you need me"

"Okay thanks"

"No problem", he said, as he walked out.

Kade felt like he was dying slowly on the inside. He felt walls closing in. But he knew if there was breath in Chay's body , there was hope that she would come out of this coma. He had to have every ounce of hope he could get...
