The Art of Bluffing

Everything was in a whirlwind. The medics were treating Chay , and checking her vitals. Policemen were arresting Westyn and Andy. Channel 5 News was about to begin filming , what Chay knew was going to be the biggest story of the year.

Kade and Jared were trying there best to persuade the news caster not to get anyone on camera.

"Why not?", the woman said powdering her nose.

"What's your name?", Jared asked.

"Gabriella", she said.

"Gabriella , can I call you Gabbie? Everyone here, especially Chay has been through enough but I don't care you showing Westyn and Andy's mugshots though , they were the cause of this...but just leave her and my brother out of it , alright?", Jared said trying to win the argument.

Gabriella just looked at him, "Fine...I understand".

While Gabriella and the cameraman were setting up, Kade made his way to Chay.

"Hey", he said kissing her forehead,"Are you feeling okay?"

"When they leave, I will be", Chay said looking over at Westyn and Andy.

Kade had to get her mind off of them. She had been through so much , she deserved a break away from this stress and anxiety.

"Hey why don't we go somewhere",he said smiling trying to cheer Chay up.

"What?" , she said caught off guard. Chay didn't know where this was coming from.

"Yeah , let me take you somewhere. My treat" , Kade said spontaneously.

"Kade-"

"Before you say no , just listen-"

"No , I'm sorry Kade. The last thing I need right now is travel and-"

"No , that's exactly what you need. You need to get out of this town , out of this state. I'll take you, you don't have to worry about anything"

"Let's do one thing at a time Kade. Right now I just want to go home"

Kade was bit disappointed, but he understood. The medics finished writing down Chay's vitals , and she stood up.

"Well sweetheart", the nurse said, "your vitals seem good. You don't have any internal pain , do you?"

"No ma'am" , Chay responded hesitantly.

"I'm not trying to scare you , but if I were you I would go to a clinic or your family doctor and get some x-rays just to be sure"

"Okay , I will", Chay said ready to go home and just sleep in her actual bed. She thanked the nurse and walked away with Kade.

Gabriella was interviewing Jared a few feet away , and Kade just nodded to him and gave him a look saying that they were leaving. Jared nodded back and continued talking to Gabbie.

Westyn , Andy , and the policemen were long gone which Chay was thankful for. She was finally ready to move on and start a new chapter in her life.

* * 3 months later * *

Chay was walking through the main hallway of her high school. She didn't know why she was there, but she knew it wasn't for good reason.

"Chay , why do you think you can escape from me?" , a voice said slyfully and crackled in laughter. The voice wasn't like a regular voice, it carried through the entire building. It began repeating her name over, and over , and over again.
