Itachi's POV
"Nice going, Itachi. You made her faint, and I thought I was the scary one." Kisame said, chuckling. "Princess! Princess!" I looked down at the small child as a fluffy, white creature appeared beside her, shaking her with its small paws.
"Princess, wake up! Please!" The creature begged. "What the hell is that thing?" Kisame asked. I picked it up from the scruff of its neck and looked at it. "Put me down, human! Unhand me this instant!" The creature yelled as it struggled in my hand.
"How interesting." I commented in a low voice. "What's going on in here?" I glanced back as the leader of the Akatsuki walked in with Sasori. "Nothing much. Just looking at some adorable creature." Kisame said.
Sasori's gaze went from us to the child on the floor. "Miu!" He rushed over to her and gently lifted her body so she was in a sitting position. "Miu, can you hear me?" He asked, checking her pulse. "What did you do to her?" Sasori demanded with cold eyes.
"Hey, we didn't do anything to her! She just passed out, un!" Deidara defended. "She passed out due to fright." I informed. "Or she passed out because of you, Itachi. You did scare her." Kisame pointed out.
"Who is she anyway?" Konan asked. "This is Miu Shimizu. This is Sasori's cousin. He's mentioned her a few times. It's why I allowed him to go into the Leaf alone." Leader said. "So, that's why you didn't want me to come along every time you were heading to the Leaf." Deidara said.
"Shut up, you brat." Sasori said as he picked up Miu bridal style. I wanted to know how she knew me. But looks like my answers are going to have to wait. "So, why bring her here?" Kisame asked.
"None of your business. I'm taking her to my room so she won't wake to another jump scare." Sasori said as he walked off. I winced slightly and looked at the creature in my hand, noticing that it bit me. "Let me go, human. I don't wish to repeat myself." The creature said.
I frowned at it before letting it go. It shook itself out, then followed Sasori to his room. What was that thing and why is calling Miu 'Princess'? More importantly, how did Miu know my name?
Miu's POV
"Mm... What... happened?" I asked as I started waking up. I opened my eyes and sat up, looking around. "Where am I?" I asked. "You're in my room." Sasori said unexpectedly, startling me. "What happened to me?" I asked.
"Kisame told me you passed out due to fright." He said. "Oh, that's right. I was talking to Itachi Uchiha." I said, recalling the event. "Are you all right, Princess?" Isuke asked me as he hopped on my lap. "Yes, I'm all right." I answered with a small smile.
I looked at Sasori when he placed his hand over my forehead. "It doesn't seem you have a fever. I would've thought you blacked out from the long walk." Sasori said, taking his hand off my forehead. "I hope I didn't worry anyone when I blacked out." I said.
"I don't think so. Wait here. I'm going to go speak with Leader. Don't leave this room until I've returned. Understand?" He said. I nodded my head and he left. I sighed before lying back on the pillow with Isuke lying on my chest.
"Are you all right, Princess?" He asked me. "Not really. I'm worried about Sasuke." I admitted. I was worried that he'll forever remain in that genjutsu. What if Sakura was right? What if I'm the reason Sasuke's in this mess?
Would Sasuke have had a better life I'd never shown up from the start? I quickly sat up when I heard a knock at the door. "Come in." I answered. The door opened, revealing Itachi. I gulped, trying to hide my fear.
Except that was impossible because I was already getting nervous. "M-May I help you?" I asked, stuttering. "It looks like I owe you an apology." Itachi spoke. "Huh?" I asked, raising a brow at him. "I'm sorry I scared you earlier. Are you all right?" He asked.
