*Emma's POV

I woke up early the next morning. I barely slept at all. I was too busy replaying last night over and over again. We had spent the entire night wrapped in each other's arms, gently swaying to the music.

Most of the songs that had been played were far too upbeat and fast-paced to slow dance to, but that didn't stop Killian and I.

And to top the night off, we'd had such a passionate kiss in my car when I dropped him off. Every time ours lips touched, electricity ran through me. It was the best feeling in the world. I never wanted to let him go.

I got up and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and take a shower. Finally, after almost a whole week after meeting, Killian and I were going on our first date today. And I couldn't be happier.

After my shower, I went downstairs to get some breakfast. Since it was Saturday, Ingrid opened the ice cream shop an hour later today. She was sitting at the kitchen table, drinking her morning coffee while reading the Daily Mirror.

"Morning, Ingrid," I greeted. I grabbed a bowl from the cupboard and poured some Fruit Loops and milk into it.

"Morning, sweetie," she smiled, taking a sip out of her mug. "Did you and Killian have fun at the party last night?"

"Um, yeah, we did," I said, as I slowly scooped a Fruit Loop up with my spoon. Crap. I was going to have to tell Ingrid about my date with Killian. It wasn't right to keep secrets from her. But I was afraid of how she'd react.

I was new to the whole dating thing, but I knew how overprotective parents were when their daughter started showing an interest in a boy. Even though Ingrid wasn't really my parent, and I wasn't really her daughter, she still cared about me.

What if she didn't approve? Even though she had no reason not to. Killian was the poster boy for what every boyfriend should be. What if she told me I wasn't allowed to have a boyfriend because she wanted me to focus on my studies? What if she told me to break up with him?

I couldn't do that. Killian made me so happy that it felt like I wouldn't be able to survive without my adorable dork.

"Is something wrong, Emma?" Ingrid asked concerned. "You seem like something is bothering you."

Yeah, something is bothering me. I'm freaking out that if I tell you about the boy I'm starting to fall head over heels for, you'll tell me I can't see him anymore! I screeched in panic to myself.

I cleared my throat, which now felt really dry. "Actually, Ingrid, I have something really important to tell you."

"Okay, then just tell me," she encouraged with a smile.

"Well...it's about Killian. We're kind of--"

"Dating?" She guessed, cutting me off.

My eyes nearly bugged out of my head. "H-how did you know?"

She laughed. "Emma, honey, you've been with me for 3 years now. Do you think I can't tell when you're smitten, especially since you never have been before until this boy came along?"

"I didn't think I've been giving anything away,"
I mumbled, feeling sheepish.

She gave me a 'are you kidding me look?' "I knew right away what was going on by the way your face lit up when you told me about him. I was a teenager once upon a time. Have the 2 of you been on a date yet?"
