Emma's POV

"Mommy, I not tired," Henry insisted as he tried to fight back a yawn while I handed him some pajamas to put on.

Ava and Brennan had left about 15 minutes ago when Henry started dozing off next to them on the couch. He could barley keep his eyes open. It had been a long day for all of us, but it surprisingly had ended on a good note.

"Tell that to someone who would actually believe you, mister," I rolled my eyes. "Now get your butt into bed. Tomorrow we're going to the zoo with Grandma, so you need your rest."

"Fwine," he sighed dramatically as he crawled into bed and snuggled in under the blankets. "Can we see the pwenguins twomorrow?"

"Of course," I smiled. "I know they're your favorite because they're so silly, just like you."

"No, you silly, Mommy," Henry giggled as he gave me a poke.

"She sure is. But I don't think anyone could be as silly as you and me, little lad," Killian smirked as he walked in from the hallway. He sat down beside me on the end of the bed.

"Ain't that the truth," I snorted before pressing a kiss to his cheek. "I'm surrounded by goofballs."

"Lucky you," Killian teased as he winked at our son, making him laugh. "Now go to sleep like your mother said, young man."

"Otay, Daddy," Henry nodded as he grabbed both his teddy bear and the Han Solo action figure from off the nightstand and tucked them under the covers. Killian and I shook our heads and smiled at one another. "When Ava and Bwennan coming back?"

"I'm not sure," Killian admitted with a shrug. "Mummy and I are going to have lunch with them next week while you go to your play date with Roland and Ella. So we'll see what happens, okay?"

"Otay. They nicer than I thought," Henry noted.

"Yeah, they are," Killian half-smiled. "It was very kind of them to give you Han Solo. That toy was my favorite thing in the whole world, until I met your Mummy," he turned and winked at me, making me giggle.

"You not gwetting him, Daddy," Henry shook his head, clinging onto the doll tightly. "He mine now."

"Henry Jones, quit being a brat to your father, or no penguins tomorrow," I scolded. "Now close your eyes and go to sleep, sassy pants."

His eyes went wide as he gasped, before quickly laying down and shutting his eyelids tightly.

"He really loves those penguins," Killian chuckled as he closed the door being us and we headed to our bedroom.

"But not as much as that Han Solo doll," I giggled as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Action figure, love," he corrected.

"Oh whatever," I rolled my eyes. "Same difference. The point is, it was very sweet of them to give Henry that and to bring all of those photos of you."

"Yes, it was," Killian reluctantly agreed. "Surprising, but sweet. Though only time will tell if they've truly changed. One good night, isn't going to make up for a lifetime of neglect."
