Emma's POV
I went upstairs to take a shower after Ingrid left to open up the ice cream shop. I was just about to hop in when I heard a knock on the front door. I quickly put on my robe and went to see who it was.
"Oh my god!" I gasped in horror as I opened the door to see Killian with a bloody face and black eye.
"It looks worse than it is, love," he assured in a raspy voice, before I could say anything else.
"What the hell happened? Who did this to you? I demanded as I gently helped him onto the couch. He winced and wrapped his arm around his torso, in obvious pain.
"Graham," he sighed. "He caught me sneaking in and assumed I was with you. And when he started insulting my girl, I kind of lost it and went after him. I gave him one good punch to the face, but then he got the upper hand and, as you can see, sort of knocked the handsome out of me."
"You're such an idiot," I scolded. "I can't believe you did this just because Graham said some nasty things about me. Don't you realize that he was baiting you?"
"Yeah, well, it worked," he admitted sheepishly. "I guess going to the gym 4 days a week isn't cutting it. Maybe I need to bump it up to 6 or 7 so I don't get my ass kicked again," he joked.
"This isn't funny," I snapped. "If Graham hadn't already beaten me to it, I'd beat the crap out of you right now for being so stupid," I threatened.
"You're right, I was stupid. I'm sorry, baby," he apologized.
"Don't you dare baby me," I hissed. "Now keep your ass here while I go get the first aid kit."
Killian tried to hold my hand but I pushed it away as I stalked past him up the stairs. What a moron! He could've gotten himself killed. He didn't know how lucky he was that son of a bitch hadn't broken every bone in his body, or put him in a coma.
But that's exactly what I was going to do to that lowlife mother fucker on Monday. I didn't care if I got detention until I graduated. I didn't even care if I got expelled. I was so pissed off. But Killian wasn't the one I was angry with.
He'd been a big dummy, but it was to defend me. Sometimes him being a perfect gentleman was a real pain in the ass. Whoever said chivalry was dead, had clearly never met my adorable dork.
As I grabbed the first aid kit, I started to feel guilty for snapping at Killian. I knew I needed to apologize and then give him a big, well-deserved kiss. I walked into the living room and sat on the couch next to him.
I gently took his bloodied face in my hands and softly kissed his lips. "I'm sorry I got mad at you. You didn't deserve that after what happened to you."
He chuckled, then winced. "Damn, that hurts. It's okay, love. I'd be pissed off too if I had a dumbass for a boyfriend."
I giggled. "You're not a dumbass, you're an an idiot. But your my idiot. Now, let me clean you up."
"Swan, I'm fine," he whined. "You don't need to."
"Just shut up and let me take care of you," I rolled my eyes.
He smirked. "Stubborn little thing."
"I could say the same thing about you," I snorted as I started carefully patting his face with a wet cloth.
