Emma's POV

As I packed up the last of my belongings from my dorm room, I felt a pair of strong, familiar arms snake around my waist. I smiled as he kissed my cheek and then rested his chin on my shoulder.

"How's it coming, love?" Killian wondered as his fingers began playing with the end of my ponytail.

"I'm nearly finished," I said as I turned to wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him tenderly. "I just have a few more things to pack up and then I'm good to go."

Today was moving day for all the seniors. It was our last day to box up all of our stuff and get ready to start our new lives before we graduated tomorrow. I still couldn't believe we were going to be college graduates by lunchtime tomorrow.

College had sped by even more quickly than high school, with as many ups and downs, but all just as memorable. It truly had been the time of our lives and it was only going to get better.

Thankfully, I'd had only to put up with Milah as a roommate for freshman year. If I had to spend any longer under the same roof with that cow, I would've been finishing out my college education behind bars.

Regina and Robin, and Mary Margaret and David were still going strong. In fact, Robin had proposed after Regina revealed that she was pregnant about 5 months ago.

It had been an unplanned, but very welcome surprise. Mary Margaret and I were absolutely thrilled that we were going to be aunts.

And Killian and David were pretty excited to be uncles, too, even though they didn't gush and squeal about it like us girls.

About halfway through sophomore year, I'd realized social work was my calling. I'd always considered it as a career path, for obvious reasons, but a tragedy that had taken place near campus put everything into perspective for me.

A man and his wife, who had 5 children, had been running a meth lab in their house. Their kids had been taken away from them multiple times, and yet the agency continuously gave them back. And because of their poor judgment, those innocent children perished in a fire after the house blew up.

The agency was charged with negligent homicide, just as they should have been, and found guilty. They were sued for practically everything they owned and forced to shut down.

The whole thing made me realize that even though I'd had a crappy childhood, I could've had it a lot worse. I was actually one of the lucky ones, and I wanted to make a difference.

Killian was completely supportive and fully on board with my career plans, just as I was with him. After much deliberation, he'd decided to major in Business, advertising and marketing to be exact.

I giggled at the thought. I never imagined I'd be with the CEO type of guy, by then I never thought I'd be where I was now. And he definitely did look good in a suit. We both already had jobs lined up from being interns senior year.

Regina had decided to major in interior design, Mary Margaret in nursing, David was going to be a chiro-practor, and Robin a dentist. I'd always pegged David being the one that would go into teeth, since his mother was a dental hygienist, but I guess he was more into spines.
