"Excuse me, was that a fucking threat?"
He paused to look at me for a moment, seemingly a little bit surprised by my rather bold reply.
Guess he didn't see that coming from someone like me.And to be completely honest, my appearance was kind of deceiving indeed. I was short and more on the skinny side, with colorful clothes and a baby face but don't let that trick you.
Because you see, I had a fucked-up personality that made up for all that.I was not someone you would want to mess with.
Truth to be told, after so many unwanted advances from boys and snarky comments from jealous bitches I kinda learned how to grow a thicker skin and toughen up from the early age of twelve. Bullying made you like that sometimes.
"Hmm...the kitty has claws," He muttered under his breath, his darkened gaze holding my own into a rather challenging way.
"Leave me alone, weirdo. You don't even know anything about me," I retorted, averting my gaze back to the teacher.
There goes his chance at befriending me.
"Oh but I do know who you are, Carina Evangeline DeLuca," He whispered close to my ear.
My blood immediately froze at the sound of that, remaining completely still as I refused to look at him again.
How did he know that? And why?
No one knew my full name. Not even my own two best friends.
No one, except my own family.
I did not even know why we had to keep our full names a secret but we always did, ever since we could spell them.
Father's last wish.
Yet somehow, this scary and dark-looking fucker sitting here right next to me knew it.
How? Why?
Why now?
I kept asking myself as I blankly looked ahead of me and ignored him as much as I could, losing track of time until the bell finally rang.
I could not scramble away faster as I clumsily grabbed my things and practically made a bee-line straight towards the door, barely hearing Jess shout something from somewhere close behind.
I did not mind her and ran to find my sister instead, my eyes wide and my heart pounding as I looked at her with desperation as soon as I noticed her walking down the hallway with Kayla.
I gave her a suggestive look as soon as her hazel eyes fell on me, darting forward to grab her arm and fastly drag her all the way towards the girls' bathroom before our friends could even try and ask what was happening.
"He knows. He knows my name, Dre," I whispered in panic as soon as we entered and locked ourselves inside, receiving a wild look from her.
"What? Who?"
"That weird goth guy we saw in the parking lot!"
"Who? The hottie? Nathan?" She raised a brow.
"Yes, the-"
"The fuck, Dre, stop thinking with your pussy," I paused to scold her.
"But how-did you ask him who he is or what he wants?"
"No! Of course not are you fucking crazy? I ran out of there as fast as I could!"
"The fuck? Now what? What do we do?"
"I don't know-" My voice died as soon we heard those few knocks from the other side of the bathroom door.
"Guys? What's going on in there? Are you okay?" We could hear Kayla's muffled voice from the other side, sounding genuinely concerned.
