Special thanks to NHLgirl22 for the idea. This one is a cute imagine that truly did make my heart do weird flips.

Thomas POV:

I walked into the arena with my gear till I heard Sid call me over.

"Hey Thomas! I just wanted to let you know that a new goalie has been called down from the AHL. He's fairly new so he's gonna be on the ice with the coaches but the whole team will be meeting him fairly soon." says Sid.

"Oh ok thanks man." I reply back making my way into the locker room and set my bag down. A couple minutes later into organizing my things, the whole team was called down to the ice. When I made my way to the ice, Mike, the coach for all the goalies, was giving a short little introduction about the new goalie.

"So we have a new goalie that we have that will be joining us. One of the best goalies that's playing in a junior league while also playing at it's finest. Please welcome Y/N." Everyone burst into claps as the new goalie took of his helmet. And then we all briefly froze looking at each other realizing the goalie wasn't a male, but in fact a female. My eyes wandered over to her, as her pair of blue eyes also made it's way to me. I gave her a small smile and continued clapping for her. Intrigued with those eyes.

Everyone started to make their way to congratulate and make small talk to her. I decided as well. Before anyone even made small talk with her, Mike talks again.

"One exception is that she's deaf. She can read lips very well though as well as talk normally."

Looking back at her, she had already started to talk to a few players. After everyone had a chance to talk to her, I was the last person who still hadn't. And I was nervous. Man up I told myself as I made my way to her. Making my way over to her, I gave her a smile before saying Hi. She looked up at me showing me her pretty smile before replying.

"Nice to meet you." she said as she held out her hand for me to shake. Grasping her hand in mine, I gave it a soft shake.

"You too." I replied. Making my way back to the locker room, I exhaled a large breath I didn't know I was holding.

~~~~~
Weeks have passed by and I grew closer to Y/N. I was in charge of showing her around the arena and helping her out a bit in goaltending. After practise, carrying my bag, I had went up to her and asked her out for coffee. Something I didn't even know I had the guts to do. And then here we were both, out in a cafe for actual coffee.
"Tell me more about yourself." she tells me. I made sure to talk slowly so she could grasp what I was saying.
"I was born In Germany. And I first was drafted by San Jose." I replied back to her as I took a sip of my coffee. "I've played for San Jose, Arizona, and Pittsburgh so far." I finish as she nods her head. "I like warm banana chocolate chip muffins, along with my grandmas famous Black Forest Cake which is from Germany originally. Not many people know that. " I smile as I look at her.
"Sorry You talk too fast. What was made in Germany? I didn't quite get it." she asked.
"Oh I'm sorry. I'll talk slower. And Black forest cakes were made in Germany. I love it. " I say and she lets out a laugh.
"No I was not aware of that." she smiles at me as she looks into my eyes. Those beautiful captivating blue eyes.
"Tell me about yourself. A beautiful woman playing hockey?" I asked.
"My dad played hockey. He would always play with me back in Canada. Until we moved to Pittsburgh." she replied. Interesting. A Canadian girl.
"I like cooking a lot. And I like watching hockey in my free time with my family. Family is important, and I value it." she looked at me smiling. Hours later, we were sitting in the same cafe learning about each others lives.
"I'm surprised you don't have a boyfriend. Has no man ever told you how amazing you truly are?"
She looks down for a second, and then back up.
"Being deaf is a deal breaker for most." she smiles sadly playing with her hands on top of the table. Oh.
 I look at her for a second, examining her face and features. Brown hair, Blue eyes, slightly tan. She truly is beautiful
I reach out and grasp her hand in mine.
"But it's not a deal breaker for me." I reply back giving her a soft and sincere smile. She looks at me and grins back with her ravishing, but innocent smile. So much emotions in one small action.
Little did I know, that this woman would become the love of my life and the mother of our 3 kids in the future.
