Dan's POV
I sat lazily on one of the support beams of the lab. My ears still hurt from my little 'interaction' with the mysterious 'Cloak'. I felt my hair heat up just thinking about it.
I was Dan Phantom. A better version of Danny Phantom from the future who now held abilities that belonged to Elder Spirits. Yet I was still beaten, and by my own most powerful attack no less!
Something about this Cloak character rubbed me the wrong way, and I think I can be a pretty mellow guy. Sure I destroyed the world but they had it coming.
I heard footsteps coming from the floor above me. The old Froot Loop had gone back upstairs after he woke up. Cloak had wiped his memory of our little chat (what a party pooper).
I closed my eyes and folded my hands behind my head, feeling the pulsing energy of the yellow stone flow through me. Cloak had given it to me when he released me from my tank. Said it was to keep my 'form stable since I no longer existed in a thriving timeline'. He was starting to sound like Clockwork.
I sighed. Being stuck down here was so boring! I felt like a caged animal. I could leave, but my butt would just be hauled back here by the stone's 'instant teleportation command' as Cloak explained. I opened one eye to look down at the stone. Wearing it made me feel like a dog.
It was not a pleasant feeling, being powerless against someone else. I hadn't felt that in years. Once I find a way to keep myself alive without this stupid stone, Cloak better watch out.
A light flashed on one of the control panels. I opened my other eye and swung my legs over the side of the beam. I floated down to the control panel and investigated the flashing light.
It was a glowing red light above a red button. A little voice inside me told me not to press that button. I smothered it and hit the button. A loud buzzing noise was made and a panel of the wall spun around to reveal another tank. This time with a female ghost floating inside.
In a word, she was beautiful. Her eyes flew open. They focused on me and narrowed angrily, "Who are you?" she demanded.
"Name's Dan, and you are?" I said.
"My name is none of your concern, you lowly ghost. I command you to release me!" she responded.
I raised an eyebrow, "If old Cloaky and Froot Loop got you locked up in there, I assume it's for a reason. And despite how much I would love to disobey them, I can't. Sorry sweetcakes."
I think that might have made her mad. She looked like she was about to explode by the way her aura turned red. But then she calmed down. And she let out a little giggle.
"I should've known you wouldn't have listened to me. Too afraid to disobey your masters hm?" she said.
I frowned, "I am afraid of no one."
Now she was the one to raise an eyebrow, "Obviously," she said sarcastically as she folded her arms. Her eyes floated downward and stopped at my chest. She gasped and her eyes widened in fear. "La Phantom Profetaĵo,"she whispered.
I titled my head, "Come again?"
She pointed at the symbol on my chest, "You bear the symbol of the Phantom Prophecy," she said.
I looked down, "Oh yeah. What a wonderful thing, am I right? Spelling out the Ghost Zone's destruction and a new order of power coming in. With my weak little self being a part of it," I laughed.
"You have no idea who you are dealing with. She will destroy everything! No one can stop her! The Diamond! The daughter!" she shouted, banging on the tank with her fists.
The stone around my neck began to glow. Muttering a curse under my breath, I rushed to the control panel and slammed my hand down on the button. The strange female ghost's tank spun back around behind it's panel in the wall. I flew up to my perch in the support beams and folded my hands behind my head, closing my eyes.
I heard someone enter the room, "Where is Vladimir?" Cloak asked. I pointed up.
"Does he remember?" I shook my head.
"Good, all is well." I opened one eye to look at Cloak. He was floating around the lab aimlessly. His red eyes settled on the panel, "Did anything happen today?" he asked.
I shook my head. Cloak hummed in thought. "Very well, I must attend to some other business now. Do be a good boy while I'm gone," he said as he disappeared through the ceiling.
I bared my fangs and growled. How dare he speak to me like that. As if I were some idiotic child! I curled my hand into a fist and allowed it to burst into flames. With my other hand I clutched the yellow stone. Soon I would find a way to survive without Cloak's control over me.
And when I did, Cloak will be nothing more than a pile of ashes.
