Danny's POV
Her lips were soft against mine, like the touch of a feather. As we kissed, she scooted closer, placing her arms on my shoulders and her hands on the back of my head. She ran her fingers through my hair and I wrapped my arms around her waist. We continued to kiss, and I didn't want it to stop. I had never felt something like this before. My heart pounding, feeling hot and cold at the same time, my stomach on a roller coaster ride. But the strongest feeling was how I never wanted to let Scarlet go. I wanted her to stay with me, to be with me, I wanted to be by her side always.
The sound of the front door opening and closing snapped me out of my trance. My eyes opened and Scarlet and I broke apart, quickly taking up studying positions. Jazz walked into the living room, her bag slung over her shoulder. I shot her a smile and she returned it. Her eyes fell on Scarlet and she raised an eyebrow. It occurred to me that I hadn't told her about Scarlet. "Uh, Jazz, this is Scarlet. Scarlet, meet my older sister Jazz," I introduced.
Scarlet looked up from her book and smiled at my sister. Jazz walked over to the girl and extended her hand, "Nice to meet you Scarlet." Scarlet looked from my sister to her hand and back again, before grabbing her hand and shaking it. I could have sworn I saw Jazz tense at the touch but I could have been wrong. Scarlet's phone went off in her pocket and she pulled it out, frowning at the screen.
"It's my uncle," she informed, standing up and grabbing her things. My expression turned sad. She had to leave already? But we had only gotten started.
"Do you need a ride home? I have a car and-" Jazz began only to be interrupted by Scarlet holding up a hand.
"No thanks. My uncle's place isn't far from here, I can walk."
Scarlet continued packing her things back into her backpack. "You sure? It's getting late out and I really don't mind," Jazz replied.
Scarlet shook her head, "I'm sure. Thanks for the offer though." Jazz nodded and walked into the kitchen. I reached for the playbook on the coffee table the same time Scarlet did, and our hands touched. We looked up at each other, our eyes locking once more, and I felt the urge to kiss her again.
She took the book and placed it in her bag. Scarlet stood up and I followed. Together, we walked to the front door and stood there. She reached for my hand and I let her take it. She leaned in close to me and I leaned into her. I closed my eyes as our lips touched once more. Her tender kiss would forever be imprinted on my lips. We parted and I opened the door for her. She smiled and whispered, "See you tomorrow darling." With a wink, she released my hand and left.
I closed the door behind her, feeling faint. Jazz entered the room, noticing my dazed expression. "Danny? Are you alright?" she asked, sounding concerned.
"Yeah, I'm just fi-" I began, only to feel myself fall forward and darkness consume me.
