Harry huffed. Him and Malfoy hadn't talked after the war at all, so who knew whether they were friends or not? But Hermione wanted to play Truth or Dare with Ron, her, Harry and Draco tonight. Why only them four?
Why Malfoy? Surely he'd deny; he'd been trying to cower away from everybody since the war, hoping that nobody would pick on him. Granger probably only offered to make him feel comfortable around people.
Well, it didn't matter, because they were on their way to potions where Potter had the job of sitting beside the usually lonely blond and asking.

As they walked in and the certain Slytherin took his seat, as always being the first one sitting at the back alone, Harry filed beside him. To say he was shocked was an under statement. He was even more suprised at what happened next.
"Look who it is, death-eater Malfoy-"
"You better turn yourself around, Seamus, before I knock the irish out of you." Potter snapped.
Seamus gasped.
"Harry? What're you doing sticking up for Malfoy?"
"I don't mean to sound harsh, my fellow Gryffindor, but I did the same for you when Blaise picked on you."
"Yes, but that's Malfoy-"
"Problem?" He cocked an eyebrow, "Now, as I was saying, go back to looking at the teacher. Just pretend nothing happened, and don't even try to insult Draco ever again. You hear?"
"Yeah, I got it." He muttered, facing the front.

"Wha-Who-Why-"
"Spit it out." Harry spoke calmly.
"Why did you stand up for me? What are you doing beside me? Po-Potter?"
"I'll explain later. Just calm down."
The teacher started speaking, and the Gryffindor caught the Slytherin staring at him a few times and observing him warily.
Finally they were set a task to do in pairs.
"Okay, so, two things. First answer was because I genuinely feel bad and you don't deserve to be bullied so much and I don't want you to be so lonely. Sec-"
"Out of pity, I see. Well, I'm fine-"
"No! Not pity, just... Just regret. For doing all my bad shit to you and I just, I don't know. Maybe we should work out our past. You're not fine going through life alone, because trust me, it's like hell. I just want you to have someone to lean on, and if you want, I'll be that person."
"Mmhmm, I don't believe a word coming from your mouth." He raised an eyebrow, "Pass me that, will you?"
Potter passed him the frogs legs to put in the potion.

"Believe me! Oh, and, er, I was, uh, asked to invite you to our, er-"
"Spit it out-"
"Iwasaskedtoinviteyoutocomewithme,RonandHermionetotheRoomofRequirementstonighttoplaytruthordare!" He blurted out, too quickly for the normal ear to translate.
"Alright, alright. Maybe english this time, Potter?"
He took a deep breathe. "I was awkwardly given the job to invite you to come with me, Ron and Hermione to the Room of Requirements tonight to play some games like Truth or Dare. Just so you aren't alone-"
"This has got to be a prank!"
"What? No, I'm serious-"
"Not that, dimwit! It says two frogs legs, then it says to stir, and then right at the bottom it says,"He cleared his throat, "before stirring add another frog leg into the cauldron. What? Would have been helpful before! Now you tell me?!" He yelled at the book.
"Everything okay, Malfoy?" The teacher asked.
"Perfect." He mumbled, fixing the bubbles pouring from their pot quite proffesionally in Harry's eyes, "All great, sir."
"Good."

"But what if I'm busy tonight? I know you lot don't really want me there- wait... This is a trick, isn't it?"
Potter observed as the other face palmed and he felt guilty.
"No, it isn't, Draco. We do want you to come join us! Who says a Slytherin couldn't mix with Gryffindors anyway?"
"Who said they could?" He argued back.
"Who said Voldemort could try killing everybody? Nobody, but that still happened!"
He regretted yelling or even bringing up You-Know-Who, despite his death, when the whole class looked at him and the blond looked offended.
"No, Potter. I'm busy tonight. Even if I was, I wouldn't particularly enjoy tagging along behind three best friends."
"I'm sorry," He apologised as everybody went back to their work, "But you won't be at the back. That's the best bit. Hermione and Ron are dating, you must know that, right?"
"How many times they snog in public, I'm sure even Voldemort managed to get a glimpse. Until you brutally destroyed him, of course." He spoke fluently and with no hesitation.
"Well, alrighty then. Anyway, because of that, I'm always tagging along. You'll be doing me a favour by keeping me company! Please?"
